    Default An idea...

I had an iddea for a storyline for Spiderman. I got the idea when I read a thread about a possible Ben Reilly return.

I think it would be a good idea to have ben Reilly return, but not to life.

Ben Reilly took peter's place as Spiderman over the last few months before Peter "Died" and it was actually Reilly that died. Peter is in hiding, for a reason that can be decided later. Peter returns, but instead of returning as Spiderman, he takes over a Scarlet Spider, pretending to be Reilly for a number of months.

He steps down from the SS mantle and takes up his Kaine mantle.

What would the point of that be? I mean, if he became an anti-hero Kaine like he is now, that could be understandable. But I fail to see why he would voluntarily go back to being bad just because Ben came back.

I would think it would be more that he steps down out of respect to allow Peter to use the SS mantle while acting as Ben Reilly.

Then it would have been Ben Reilly that made the deal with Mephisto and Ben who have gone through the events of BND and Big Time. This is one acceptable solution to the OMD mess for me. Not perfect, but the best idea so far if you ask me. If it happened I would not only start buying again, but probably buy the BND/BT backissues as well.

So you don't buy anymore, but you hang around on the message boards FOUR YEARS later to keep on bitching and complaining?!? Have you even read any of the stories since OMD? If so, I guess you're the type who stands in the store reading all the books for free and blocking the shelf from other people who are actually trying to buy. I don't know which type of Spider-fan is worse, the former or the latter.

There is an awful lot of assumptions here. I visit my comic shop around twice each year just out of nostalgia. I have never read from the shelves. I actually bought OMIT and a few other BND issues a few months ago because they were in "The quarter bin", I even tried to read a few of them.
If you bothered to investigate you would see that my contributions to this board is overwhelmingly positive the last two years, but if someone brings up an OMD-specific topic I feel free to express my opinion in those threads.

I can make wild guesses about what kind of fan you are too, but I'll refrain.

Okay, sorry. Thought you were one of the many annoying lurkers who only pop up around here to bitch and moan about OMD/BND/OMIT. Your "I would start back buying again" comment threw me off.

Oh, I am sure I am annoying to someone of different opinion, but unless the topic is not OMD-related I participate on various polls and discussions with what I believe is construvtive positive information. So B&M is not _all_ I do... Thanks anyway.
