I remember the Cap-Wolf story from right after Operation: Galactic Storm. It was silly, but a fun read for 1992's 15-year-old me.
"In our first Descendants story, we set up this bubbling plot where Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady, was killed and replaced with a Life Model Decoy who basically has all of Eric's memories. It's almost like he died, everything went black and he woke back up with Father, the leader of the Descendants, standing over him," said Remender. "I don't want to reveal too much of the deal they make and how this all works out, but Eric is still Eric. He's a Life Model Decoy dealing with the fact that he's an artificial person. He has his own his motivations for serving Father and the Descendants and that's going to play a huge role coming up because the Secret Avengers now have a spy within their ranks."
^that doesn't make sense to me. how is Eric still Eric if he's an artificial Eric? Max Fury is an LMD. Max Fury isn't Nick Fury. don't pee down my leg and tell me it's raining.
I see it like a clone. Max is like a robotic version of Ben Reilley. So, he's as much Eric as Ben was Peter, if that makes any sense. But, we finally get an explanation of what happened. I was expecting more a Dethlock sorta thing myself, as opposed to an LMD. But, shouldn't they be able to tell? I thought only an LMD's exterior looked human, and they had mechanical innards and such. Wouldn't that show up on a x-ray, or MRI, or something?
Check out the O.A.W. Report at www.majinoaw.blogspot.com. You want to see why I say the things I do or understand what's in my head... this is the place to go.
The difference between Max and Eric would just be the situations they've been thrust into since awakening. That's why Max moved towards villainy and why Eric seems to be be teetering on an edge, neither good nor bad.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
you'd think so. but i just don't feel right about this. Eric's irish catholic. he believed in the concept of a soul; according to Seeley's ant-man and the wasp mini. is Remender saying that the LMD has Eric's soul? if not, then he needs to stray away from saying that Eric is still Eric. this is an artificial copy of Eric. it's not Eric in an artificial body. and Ben was Ben Reilly, to me. i don't see him as Peter Parker. i see him as Peter's artificial identical twin.
i guess what i'm saying is that i hope fake Ant-man changes his name to Derrick O'Grady, at some point. otherwise, Remender's just being tacky.
I thought most interesting is it seems like confirmation that SA will continue as is in the Marvel NOW era.
Not looking forward to the Avengers analogue issues. If you're going to have Avengers analogues, have the core Avengers, not Johnny-come-lately-and-don't-fits like Spider-Man and especially Wolverine. Those two absolutely don't belong in a grouping with Cap, Thor and Iron Man when it comes to the Avengers, regardless of their similar status as iconic Marvel characters.
Like they're not all gonna be dead when Remender's done with them.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
I noticed Remender plays with the same themes lately. New Brotherhood in UXF, new Masters of Evil in SA.
I doubt Captain Britain is going to appear again until the Descendants arc. I may drop the series until then, the current arc won't interest me much.
I do hope that Brian tells Hawkeye that he has been a dick when they are going through 666.
Arrogant Opinionist
An anti-hero without true redemption. Happy days for Eric O'grady. Nice to see Rick keep characters that don't pay off in the soft butterfly feeling department.
