Pr0n parody superhero costumes > Hollywood superhero costumes. WTF?!

Couldn't decide where to put this thread since this involves both DC & Marvel Comics characters and their adult film (read: porn) parodies, so I'll put it here.

Just happened to read Comics Alliance's review of "The Dark Knight XXX" movie and I keep finding the same trend: That the costumes in movies like these are actually better than the ones Hollywood make for their movies. Is it just me or is Hollywood lazy when it comes to designing them? Despite having budgets that are fractions of that of the "big-budget/blockbuster" movies, adult film parodies keep creating far more believable version of the costumes. In this movie alone you have a Batman, Catwoman, Zatanna and Constantine costumes that actually look good.

Just curious as to see how any of you can explain why this happens?

It's not really that the porn parody costumes are "better" so much as more faithful to the source material. The answer to why is simple: The porn parodies are actually trying to appeal to fans of the comics while the Hollywood film versions are trying to make as much money as possible by appealing to the widest possible audience.

Catwoman bombed because it was a terrible movie on just about every level. The awful costume, bad as it was, was the least of that film's problems.

Yes, I don't think particular costuming is something that's going to affect box office much in either a negative or positive way. The general public cares little for such things.

That's...an awesome way to parody Nolan's Batmovies.

But, um...Yeah, you don't have to really worry about movement or anything with those costumes because they're going to be taken off in about five minutes anyway.

Besides, skintight leather and spandex and porn stars are a perfect match.

From reading that review it sound like the porn dudes managed to make a version of Dark Knight that is even more effed up and depressing than the movie it's based on.

It comes as no surprise if you've ever watched any of the mainstream porn films by the director, Axel Braun. His mainstream, non-parody stuff is often ridiculously misanthropic and creepy, even compared to the norm for commercial porn. It often leaves one with a dirty feeling, and by "dirty" I'm not talking "hot, unhibited, far-out sex" sort of dirty, but more "I feel a worse person for even watching this" sort of dirty. I'm not surprised he incorporated some of the stuff from KILLING JOKE while making it more rapey, either.

Yes, it's obvious from watching, that Christopher Nolan didn't care about his Batman movies at *all*.

I also think, that considering the porn actors aren't doing much in those costumes...besides humping..you can just grab replicas as opposed to a Hollywood film where you have to account for actual movement and stund doubles
