Wolverine (yay more shoving him down our throats. I'm sorry murderers don't belong on The Avengers. If the Punisher ever joins I will never touch the Avengers again)

Storm (I mean why? Completely pointless)
Echo (how was she not on this list?)
Daredevil (again why? just because he was one of the few that hadn't been one yet?)
Sentry
Triathlon
Red Hulk (again he even wonders why he was on the team)

really? maybe some like him as an Avenger, but I can't imagine anyone listing him as one of the greatest.

I can't stand Cage as an Avenger. especially with the whole not using a code name or costume. bringing his annoying wife, and all the drama with his kid. he seemed to work a lot better as a hero for hire.

Sentry should not be on anybody list simply for the mere fact,Sentry has actually been the focus of many story lines while on the Avengers.Just about everybody else on list you forget that they where on the avengers.Love or hate you remember that Sentry was Avengers because he actually had a impact.

Is Sentry on worst conceived characters?Maybe.Does Sentry have one most convoluted and silly origin?Yes.Did marvel try to shove Sentry down fan's throats?Yes.If the list is talking about effectiveness while being an avenger then maybe Sentry make the list because he was as dangerous for good side as he was for the bad side but for memorable moments while being an Avengers

Sentry is worth having around and you can list tons more great Sentry moments,I think best test for somebody was good avenger if you can find great moments for them.

Well yea, it was. Really, it could have been boiled down to "Criminal gets god like powers. Tries to turn over a new leaf and use them for good, but the darker side of his psyche is trying to get through and corrupt him." In the hands of a writer who is good at psychological stories, like i dunno, a Morrison, you could have had a pretty cool story about a guy trying to live and control god like powers and not give into the temptation those powers present.

I agreed to extent but placing him on a list with Dman,Deathcry,Silverclaw is silly,Sentry could actually hold a ongoing series at marvel.Everybody on the list would barely make back on to the avengers.If the list is 10 worst character concepts or convoluted characters then Sentry makes the list easy.10 worst avengers? Nah people like Echo,Marrina,Jack of hearts,Firestar etc would make the list before him.

Sentry is good concept that nobody at Marvel could seem to make up their mind about what he is and every time Sentry got passed off to another writer or story they change concept again mudding waters even more,Jenkins and Bendis clearly had different ideas what Sentry should be,Hell Bendis and himself clearly had different ideas what Sentry should be.Sentry is still a solid concept a flawed man with issues that turns into amazing powerful superhero.Marvel successfully created a Superman character then proceed to convoluted it to point of almost uselessness

Being memorable and being good are two different things altogether. If I had a house guest that dropped his pants and started peeing on everything I owned, he'd certainly be the most memorable house guest I ever had, but I wouldn't call him a good huse guest.

Sentry was memorable all right, but most of that comes from the fact that they kept changing around his past, couldn't figure out exactly what his powers where, and had him flipping out and going evil quite a bit. Just because there was a good idea behind it doesn't mean the character was good. The character was fairly awful and they kept messing him up at every opportunity. I find it hard to defend him on the basis that he could have been interesting but wasn't.

9. Triathlon (lame powers, lame costume, lame name, and the whole triune thing)
8. Sentry (loved the first mini, just not Bendis' take on him)
7. Falcon (not a fan of bird-themed heroes in general, Hawk & Dove aside, and he's pretty much the Aquaman of Marvel-only worse)
6. Silverclaw (glad to see I'm not alone, though I swear I did love Busiek's run despite my list)
5. Thunderstrike (Red Hulk before Red Hulk was cool)
4. Firebird (no particular reason, just disliked)
3. Echo (if you want Taskmaster then just recruit Taskmaster, he has a less shady past than your golden boy Wolverine)

That would have been analogy except Sentry actually has done very good things as superhero,A better analogy would be you have a good friend who is awesome person to be around but they can't handle massive amount alcohol an turns into a ass when they are complete drunk.Sentry is like that he is great character until they start focus in on his origins and past and becomes a mess.Everytime Sentry was in straight up superhero story and you didn't have to think about his past the character was good.

Beside my point is not Sentry was great character,or even good character for this topic,The point is in terms of bad characters Sentry gave lots of good moments as Avengers,Remember that time Stingray beat Dr Doom? Remember that time Dman went head to head with Hulk? Remember Firestar throwing that bomb into the sun?Is Sentry a great character? i can't say that but regardless of jack up his story was Sentry had impact for good while he was on the avengers at point and played a major role.No where close to being the worse avenger.

For me qualify for worst Avenger longevity plays apart so people like Red Hulk,Protector,Quake,Storm who just started a run get a pass for now because their time is not completed,If after AvX Storm does not rejoin up with Avengers then she could probably make the list.The second thing is character design and third thing is impact on story.In the short time Sentry he was on the avengers he had an impact on the book
