As far as the tattoo goes for his niece , its clear Brian is close to her and likely told his sister he was gonna get the tattoo of her like that. I'm sure if his family objected he wouldn't have gotten the tat. I did think it was a nice gift in a sense to do it for her. I don't like tattoos and would never get one. But to handle the pain of hours of that ...pretty cool.

Portraying a young female relative with Down Syndrome as a zombie: offensive, especially since one of the hallmarks of zombiedom is reduced mental facilities. If I was the girl's parent, I'd slap the guy.

Getting it as a tattoo? Got to confess I'm one of those who doesn't get the point of tattoos, but that seems round the bend.

I'm not a tat guy myself, but Bryan's intention was not to mock his niece. The exact opposite, in fact. Bryan Johnson and the ViewAskewniverse guys are actually very accessible. You could email him to ask "why" he did that via the View Askew site. Or hell, call up the Secret Stash. They do have a phone number.

As one whose sister & only sibling has Down syndrome (which doesn't make my opinion any more or, I trust, less valid than yours or anyone else's, but might be relevant here ... or not), yes, I stand by my evaluation of that as inappropriate. Probably far more inappropriate than if she didn't have such a condition. Even though I've almost certainly watched more zombie movies -- somewhere in the mid-200s -- than any other 20 people here (with one notable exception whose name escapes me as I type in my just-awakened daze), & even though I've got tattoos (which I mention simply because some people just can't get their heads around the concept; obviously, I'm not one of them).

Just saw an episode of this show that first aired back in December. Titled "Stan the Man," it features an appearance at the store by Stan Lee. The "Comic Book Men," who surely know better, give Stan sole credit for the creation of virtually the entire MU (notably, Captain America was excluded). There was no mention of Kirby, Ditko, Everett, et al. The word "co-creator" was never spoken. It was as if it were 1970 all over again. Disappointing. I'm all for Stan getting his due, but here was a wonderful opportunity to dispel those persistent myths squandered.
