"Hunter S Thompson cross-gender cosplay - the costumes seem to be getting weirder every year."
You mean Tank Girl?
Saludos desde el exilio a una generación de destructores.
While I enjoy seeing all the cosplays at Comic Con, the person writing the captions was being a complete jerk about it. We get that some cosplays are overweight men in less elaborate costumes. Some people decide to try to make stuff at home with what they have. That doesn't mean you have to be disrespectful or even downright mean to them.
"Look, if all ya got costume wise is a Star Trek Red Shirt, well, just don't. Stay home."
"While I appreciate the home made costumes, some of them shouldn't be worn. One of these shouldn't be worn."
"Green Lanterns! One of these is amazing, the other one is a guy in a Green Lantern costume."
are all comments that just rubbed me the wrong way.

There needs to be a course in etiquette that includes how to post appropriately for public consumption. I have to agree that some of the captions on the costume pictures were way out of line. There are probably some people with very hurt feelings now that they've seen their pictures posted with mean captions on them. Why in the world would CBR have allowed this to be done on the site? It not only is unkind to the costumers but it does not make a good impression for the site itself. I really think an apology from CBR and the person who posted those mean-spirited captions should be made.
It's the head of the site who posts the comments. The meanness issue has come up before, years ago. So, it's not changing or it has reverted back.

I agree that some of the captions are unnecessarily mean.
Also, you're heterosexual and like boobs, we get it.
this was going to be my second comment about the captions. It made me feel uncomfortable reading it. and maybe do an ounce of research.
The best word to sum up the captions is this 'unprofessional'. I expect better from cbr. It actually offends me that they'd think it'd be alright to be this cruel to innocent cosplayers. I'd like them to change or apologize for the article.
I'm glad others feel as I did after reading these comments. What a hack job. Continually swings between creepy, mean and disinterested. I honestly don’t know how someone could write some of these comments and call themself a professional. After a certain point it was like the façade was dropped and he was just outright qualifying women on his personal level of hotness. You owe the people you’ve hurt and objectified an apology.
