Default Wood Fights for Mutant Freedom in "Ultimate Comics X-Men"

CBR News spoke to Brian Wood about "Ultimate Comics X-Men" #14 which kicks off his "Divided We Fall" tie-in and sends his team to the heart of anti-mutant extremism in America.

I was getting a bit nervous there about Iceman and Rogue. Jimmy would have survived of course.

I can't wait for the next issue I need it now!

This quote alone makes me believe the Ultimate X-Men is in very good hands.
"You'll find out about Johnny, we'll have some new cast members, 616 characters that have not yet appeared in the Ultimate universe. Karen Grant/Jean Gray and the SEAR will return in the future, and an incredibly complex and touchy new relationship will form between the mutant nation and the government of the US, something that'll drive the story post-event."

Though I am wondering when Apocalypse story line will continue.

So did Bobby kill that guy? Rogue almost killed hers after she read his thoughts... and Colossus killed a guy a few issues back. These X-Men are way more scary than they were before

I dug the hell out of what was in the interview but I don't know how I feel about yet another team of murderers.

Murder - the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law.

    1. There is no law done there.
    2. They came with guns first self-defense.

killing- An act of causing death, esp. deliberately.

They killed but they aren't murderers.

I don't think they killed anybody.

True, this is a world where mutants need to kill or be killed. It would be very difficult to follow Xavier's ideology at a moment where violent acts against mutants are occurring. Right now, it seems Storm is the only one attempting to keep Xavier's dream alive while everyone else has placed those thoughts far back in their minds.

Not just Storm. Xorn is basically Xavier 2.0.

    Default Pitch:

Imagine an Ultimate Utopia. Lead by a senate comprised of Kitty Pryde, Jean Grey, Xorn, Colossus and Storm.

After reading Nick's run and writing the issues I have so far, I'm tired of always seeing them beaten down and marginalized. Time to give the mutants a little glory.
This has been my feeling on the matter for this entire run so far. I'm now looking forward to seeing a bit of a respite from it. There's only really any value in putting your heroes in such a terrible place if you allow them the chance to escape it eventually...

But this can't be true! MarvelMaster616 said that mutants in the UU are screwed and that there is absolutely no hope for Ultimate X-Men without Wolverine, Magneto, Cyclopse and Xavier. :P
