i still think tobey is the better actor regardless of andrews other movies.
andrew couldve been great but the movie didnt allow for much character development so,
tobey > andrew

Andrew for sure. Way more than I expected. I loved the trilogy and thought Tobey was great, but Andrew definitely feels more like Peter and Spidey. He owns it in my opinion.

My gut reaction says Andrew Garfield but I can't really judge until he completes a trilogy to see if he's consistently good or shows character growth.
So, is this question solely focused on the films (ah-la, the whole "Toby vs. Andrew" debacle) or are we talking about any actor that's portrayed a Spider-Man/Peter Parker that's ever been created for motion picture picture, television, video game and etc.? Clarification necessary.

Toby was, in my opinion, a better Peter Parker. He had that geeky/dweeb quality to him that just worked... except for the third movie; I'm not including the third movie because it was just... *shudder*
I do like the new costume better though, it's reminiscent of Mark Bagley's design in a few ways and that was one I always liked. I would've liked Andrew to have some more witty remarks and quips during the movie though, especially during his time as Spider-Man. I'll wait to fully judge until I see more but basing this one movie off the first movie Toby did I would say: Toby is a better Peter while Andrew is a better Spider-Man.
It was the general rule for a while that Spider-Man was hyphenated on the cover and not hyphenated on the inside. Stan supposedly put the hyphen on the cover to avoid confusion with Superman. It wasn't a steadfast rule however. It was hyphenated in X-Men # 30 for example. It would be hyphenated here and there in ASM too. I'm not sure when it became the standard, but it was sometime within the first couple of years (again, with rare exceptions).

Maguire in every single way
Anyone who doesn't like Miles Morales is a racist.
Andrew Garfield, for sure. I really hope the next movie is a better quality movie, at least on par with Spider-Man 2. The cast is perfect. We just need a better director.
Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man, Scarlet Spider, Thor: God of Thunder, Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimates, Ultimate X-Men, Uncanny Avengers, Venom
Cartoons: Christopher Daniel Barnes (I still read the books in his voice)
Movies: I'd say Andrew, I just never liked Tobey as Peter.
