Default Anyone attending Pulpfest 2012 in Columbus, OH Aug 9-12?

Shaxper's Conan thread reminded me this was apporaching next month. I was curious if any of the posters here would be attending. It's theme this year is the centennial of ERB's John Carter and Jim & Ruth Keegan who produce the REH comic strip that appears on the letters pages of DH's Conan will be guests. There are comics there too, but the focus is on pulps and pulp characters. If anyone is attending, maybe we can set up a meet and greet. As of now, I plan on going on the opening Thursday only, but I might go on Saturday or Sunday as well depending on work schedule. Columbus is about 45 minutes from my residence, so I can pop down fairly easily.

Judging from your icon, you are a Conan fan. So I think you'll want to return of Saturday evening for a couple of Conan presentations. The Keegans and Mark Schultz will be presenting a power point on eight decades of Conan illustration as well as a contemporary look at illustrating the character. After that, Rusty Burke, president of the Robert E. Howard Foundation will moderate a panel of Howard scholars on Robert E. Howard's Conan and the Birth of Sword & Sorcery. Check out the convention's website at www.pulpfest.com for further details on these presentations. I hope to see you at the convention.
