As long as you wait till 10am, like our rules say, Im fine with spoilers being posted here. I'll even change the title to reflect it.
hey shaggy does the rule says US time?? To everyone...I will let other spoil it for you. I am not good in descriptions
I was not a fan. I had stopped buying AvX but gave in thinking this might be worth getting. Ah well.
Thought mentioning uncle ben multiple times was completely unnatural
RIP Spider-Man
for those who've not read a spoiler.....
spoilers:end of spoilers
spidey takes on Colosusnaut Phoenix and Magik Phoenix at magiks prison allowing the others to escape. He notices Magik losing it and has her fight peter.... the mountain explodes....
It was OK. I enjoyed it. AvX is what is.
His memory's gone! Or...is it? It's not hard to fake amnesia! The Goblin is capable of anything!
I love Spider-Man, I think Aaron is one of the best writers working in comics today, and I've been enjoying AvX so far. That said, this was a weak issue. Not terrible, just very flat - and definitely not the shining moment for Spidey that I was hoping for. And the mentions of Uncle Ben came across as forced.
There's a bit more to it.
spoilers:end of spoilers
Hope complains about how she's been left on the sidelines. Spidey explains that she'll learn that she'll have a trial by her soon enough.
In a later between the Avengers VS Collosusnaut and Magik, Spider-Man sacrifices himself to allow the other Avengers to escape. It's his turn to be tested.
And while hopelessly outmatched, he still manages to trick his two opponents into fighting one another.
I think it would've been better if
spoilers:end of spoilers
They didn't come back to rescue him. It kind of diminishes the whole act of letting them escape... Or maybe if it was just Wolverine that came back for him, that'd have been good.
Bad news everyone...
I think the original poster was absolutely correct. This is exactly how Spidey should be used in these big events. Jason Aaron really seemed to understand the core of the character in this issue. He made jokes without sounding immature. He showed bravery and selflessness. And he used his brain and cleverness at the end. An absolutely excellent depiction of Spidey. And the Kubert art looked great as well. Easily the best issue of this event series.
