Batman Movies: After Nolan ?

So I am wondering what people think or some opinions of what Bat fans would like to see in the next round of Batman movies. Nolan says that this is it so I will believe him (for now). I thought I read somewhere that DC is already trying to start up another reboot the next time around with Bat films. We shall see...

There will be other Bat films coming it is just a matter of time. Who would you like to see direct them? Who would you like to see star in them? What type of angle/story would you like to see and what characters?

Marvel did it with Spiderman and it looks like it has worked. So DC can do it as well (if they decide to reboot it or follow its path with 4,5,6 flicks).

I think a trilogy revolving around the Court of Owls could be interesting.

As of this post the movie has still not debuted here in the U.S. Can we have a month or two before moving on? Maybe appreciate Nolan's take for a bit.

And if you are going to adapt any story, there are better stories than Court of Owls that can be told more coherently and in a timelier fashion.

I think Nolan did a fantastic job. Not taking anything away from him. These threads were going to pop up sooner or later so I am getting it out of the way now.

I agree. Bring back Bale, make it dark, bring in a young actor to play Robin and do it right.

Bale has said outright he doesn't want to do any more Batman films. He's also vehemently opposed to the idea of Robin and said he would have quit if Robin had been cast in any film.

Bale also recently said he would not say no right now to playing Batman again (I know I read it somewhere, maybe SuperHeroHype.com). You use Robin the right way it could work.

Maybe one film, but no way a trilogy of Owl movies. I was bored with them just from the comics by the time it all ended.

- Batman and Robin could work. Just update Robin's origin a bit so it isn't so ridiculous. Or hell use Damien and have Nightwing, Todd, and Red Robin already out there.

I think after the impact and success of Nolans films a little continuity wouldn't go amiss. Change up the tone and style but don't reboot EVERYTHING. There's no need, the franchise is very strong, it's not a Spider-Man 3 or Hulk situation. The ending of DKR is way too cool to throwaway

Do a Batman Beyond type legacy story starring Robin Blake. Doesn't need to be far future, doesn't need to be Terry McGuiness or even Gordon-Levett in the role (though that would be awesome). You can make Gotham a Blade Runner type world or only marginally advanced, whatever works best for the director it makes no difference. Bruce Wayne in the Alfred role and older versions of classic rogues along with new ones. You could even begin to work in a proper Robin in part two and three - Damian Wayne would be awesome (since they've already established the Al Ghul's). You could actually go the whole way and bring back Ra's even. An older Selina in a support role, a new Catwoman, Jokerz gang, Penguin as Mayor, Poison Ivy with a plants VS machines angle, a contextually realistic Mr Freeze, Professor Pyg, Flamingo, Ninja-Man Bats!

The change in setting, style and lead character would be a refreshing departure from Nolans films and an opportunity to really break new ground, without having to retread the old Bruce Wayne story which I think, even five years from now, would feel a little too soon. Then in 15-20 years the classic Bruce Wayne Batman story would be something genuinely exciting and fresh again.

I'll take over. After all, who but the Best in the World can succeed Nolan. Pretty soon you all will go from being Burtinians, to Nolanites to Randhawans.

Here's how it should play out, two years after the Justice League, Bruce Wayne tries to comprehend what the world is coming to, if his operation is larger than him himself, if he CANNOT eradicate evil like he hoped, if he does more damage than good. That is the theme, no Gotham doesn't belong to me bullshit.

Plus, to say I am the Best in the World doesn't mean I am better than any of you, each and every one of you is precious in your own way, no homo. To you, me being the Best in the World may be a title, but to me its more.

I say they say F it and get Nathan Fillion as Bruce Wayne and do a comedy series more like the Adam West series. It would be a perfect palette cleanser. Who's with me?
