Why doesn't Thor have a beard?

Some artist draw him with a beard, some don't! I think he should switch it up a bit. Sometimes he needs to go with an epic beard, sometimes he needs to go clean-shaven.

If I could make one change to the 616 Thor, I'd give him the Ultimate Thor's Mjolnir. I loved Bryan Hitch's design for the axe-hammer in Ultimates. That would be one of the best changes in AvX. Forget the rebranding of all the books, Thor's current hammer breaks and he gets a Bryan Hitch designed one!

Are the writers going to do anything with the whole "Thor's life is now tied to his hammer?" I don't think I liked that idea very much.

The hammer is iconic but I agree the whole life force in the hammer thing never made sense. The hammer had been damaged before and it was repaired, why was it different this time, especially since Thor had the Thorpower at the time.

I'd also like for Thor's beard to make a comeback; hopefully it'll bring along a good writer for his book.

He really needs one. I can't take him seriously, he looks like a girl. With a beard on the other hand he looks enormously badass.

I'll always have a soft spot for the later Simonson Thor, with that gorgeous beard he grew after Hela marked up his face...and I'll always remember the panel that showed him shaving it off early in deFalco's run, while pointing out to Herc (who was bouncing around panel going "Don't do it! Don't do it!") that he wasn't obligated to wear one, as no, his people weren't Vikings. That and complaining that the thing had always made his face itch.

Don't worry, he probably will after his next redesign when he steals bits from his Ultimate counterpart. After all, he seems to be getting a 5 o'clock shadow in the Marvel NOW teaser.
