I'm glad Dixon and Graham Nolan are getting their fair share of Bane money. I may go buy Bane Spaghetti-Os just to give them an extra nickel.

Yeah, seriously awesome that him and Graham Nolan are getting their cut. It's interesting how far ahead DC is from Marvel in this sort of thing. I read that Len Wein got more money for creating Lucius Fox than Wolverine.

Dixon has all my respect, he created Stephanie Brown. Very good to see that the creators will have some participation in the profit.

Len Wein should live in a 100,000 sq. ft. sultan's palace made of pure gold, filled with beautiful and exotic love slaves who cater to his every whim. Jesus, is there any cash cow, in regards to fictional characters, who generates more money than Wolverine?

Harry Potter is finished making billions until 20 years from now when they remake the films. Wolverine makes money every day, 24/7, perpetually, never slowing down. He's the best there is at what he does.

OK now Chuck should gives some of his cut to Mark Gruenwald's estate.

This is DC telling Marvel they are better than them.

Good for Dixon. Bane is a cool creation. I'll admit, Gail did some of the best work with him, though.

I heard that Len Wein has made more money off of Lucius Fox than he has off Wolverine.

I don't get how Dixon can work out such a deal that even Bruce picking out the Batmobile is money in his pocket but some creators get nothing (at least that's what I've been led to believe).

Our creators enjoy in DC Entertainment’s successes in many ways when they create original comic book characters and storylines
Like free movie tickets and tie-pins.

    I keed. I keed.

I'm very happy that Dixon and Nolan will see something for this creation.

Around the mid-1980s writers and artists realized they could (and should) get royalties when characters and situations they created were used outside of comics. So they started having "participation agreements" included in their contracts. If you create Joe Hero Guy and ten years later Joe Hero Guy, The Movie makes a billion dollars, then you get 0.05%.

DC started agreeing to this before Marvel did. And DC has been generous in giving creators money even when they legally didn't have to, as noted in the Len Wein comments. Denny O'Neil also got money for Ra's al Ghul, for example.

It's nice to see such a long term payoff for the summit they had where Knightfall was plotted. Good for them.

"Then on 'Batman Begins,' the scene in which Bruce Wayne picks out the Batmobile from his own garage – I called Paul up and said 'I'm the only guy who ever wrote that scene in "Detective" #0. Every other version has him and Alfred building the car.' And Paul said, 'You're right' and they cut a check.
hmmm... very interesting and somewhat unbelievable. But either way, I'm all for creator rights!
