Sounds interesting. I like that it's grounded in reality, it's cool to get something like that. I still hope there'll be other DC characters in there, in a world without super powers, we can still have The Question, Wesley Dodds Sandman, Batman... It'd be cool to see this show's version of those characters.
Based on the preview comic and the trailer, it's already better than the Green Arrow comics of the past few years.
Recommended Comics:
Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye
..but I don't really want the 'world outside my window' -- that's why I watch TV. Also, we've been dealing with gritty realism for years in comics, and I think, overall, it's been painful.
I'll give it a chance, but I was kind of hoping these guys would take it a more colorful direction...as somebody mentioned above, it would be cool to see traditional characters showing up (with names intact, but only real world abilities). I could dig that.
I guess I was just hoping that with the success of Avengers, we would see a lot more of our favorite spandex and armor-clad heroes and villains flying around the screen in abundance...
KIMOTAZAM!!
(like 'Zing!', only bigger and louder)
I remain cautiously optimistic about this series. I really liked what I've seen, liked the 10 page comic too. I love that Green Arrow Year One and Mike Grell and (perhaps his run) are referenced but I think Green Arrow does work better as a more real-grit character, especially since his rogues gallery has a few real worldish villains. He's a hunter and I appreciate that the team are NOT using the majority of the GA comics produced in the last decade, but trying to do their own thing.
Works for me.
Wake me up when it's over...
This show is looking more and more badass.
