They didn't even bury the mechanical arm, so I guess it's just an empty casket. And was there really anyone dumb enough to believe that Cable would stay dead after a time portal collapsed on him and no body was left behind? I mean, Captain America was shot dead and they still brought him back via time travel, so having a time portal collapse on you is basically a "get out of death free" card!

Me too! All I can see in that picture is Peter's tramp-stamp hole.

    Awful.

Is that Random behind Deadpool? Wasn't he an enemy then, a member of the Acolytes?

Isn't there an old x-position laying around where Remender pretty much says "It's been several years since the AoA anniversary mini, and in those several years some people died and some were resurrected just like in the 616, and you don't really have to see those missing years to enjoy the story"? Yes. AoA Gambit died. But he came back. I'm sure tons of people came back from the dead in standard marvel during those years too.

Bring back TOMMY, the flat morlock with a heart of gold, pluck in her step and a song in her heart.

AoA anniversary ruined the whole reality and it cannot be repaired. I find the AOA "ongoing" to be a deplorable shadow of what the real AoA was. Alas Earth 295, you are sorely missed.

didn't read it, I guess...but I don't think an explanation is X-Position is enough to just handwave a continuity error away after the fact! it's poor editing in my opinion, plain and simple!

But... if you walked away from, say, Uncanny X-Men and then came back five or ten years later you'd run into the exact same problem. I don't think we need constant reminders to remember that comic book universes run by comic book universe rules. If things only changed in AUs when the audience was watching it'd grow stale quickly.

Who does keep track of continuity at Marvel? Do they have one or two people who's only job it is to keep the universe's mangled history from collapsing in upon itself?
