Maybe as a photo in the Bugle or Hawkeye saved by a web or something, but not an an actual crossover. Not a fan of Spidey as an Avenger as it is, though that's only really due to how he's written as being so insecure and really irritating as he overcompensates for it. I just want to reach into the comic and slap him and point out all he's done.

Spidey could be a huge asset to the Avengers under the right creative team. However, there just way too many characters in the book as it is. And he's just there as a comic relief. It would have been nice to see a writer who actually care about Spidey do more than that.

Just a little cameo would work, with sony (The greedy sods) getting 2%

I think a little cameo is all that would be needed for most people to be happy, myself included. In fact, if it ever got to the point of Spider-Man appearing in the Avengers, I might be a little overwhelmed. I mean, I just want something to confirm that they do belong in the same universe. I would also like this to happen with the new Fantastic Four series and the X-Men series. Despite, X-Men 3 not doing so well, I believe it can live in the world with Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc. Now, if X-Men Origins: Wolverine is still in continuity, then I guess it is a little bit of a problem.

Alright, I've decided I'm going to make a new timeline for this with all the Marvel stuff.

Captain America: The First Avenger (Historical Stuff of Course)
    ~About 70 Years Later~
    Iron Man
    ~About 6 Months Later~
The Incredible Hulk (not quite to New York, hanging out in Betty's town right then)
Iron Man 2 (Stops before the final battle)
    The Incredible Hulk (Campus fight)
"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer"
    Iron Man 2 (Final Battle)
Thor (Begins with Thor being hit by the truck after banishment)
The Incredible Hulk (Hulk and Abomination destroy Harlem)
Thor (The "Grudge Match" levels the small town)
    ~The Next Year--During the Summer~
    The Avengers
~End of the first semester (November, December) at schools~
The Amazing Spider-Man (cranes are there for the final clean up and no references were made for the same reason references aren't made to that "one time Stark blew up that place in Queens or that place in California" or that "one time Hulk destroyed all of Harlem" or "Thor destroying an entire town". It's been a while and New York, clearly, is constantly getting attacked in some way.)
Iron Man 3 (I think this might actually take place right around the same time as the Amazing Spider-Man or only a couple months after the Avengers)
    ~Unknown~
    Thor: The Dark World
    Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    The Guardians of the Galaxy
    The Avengers 2
    Ant Man
    The Incredible Hulk 2
    Doctor Strange
    Thor 3
    Captain America 3
    The Amazing Spider-Man 3
    The Avengers 3

Yes of course it should! Marvel should have the rights to ALL their characters! Screw Fox and Sony.

Can this be proof that the Amazing Spider-Man does in fact take place in the same universe as the Avengers? I think so.
Theres also the fact that Oscorp Tower was going to make an appearance in Avengers, but they designers didn't have time to put it in due to time constraints. If Sony and Marvel don't create an all out crossover that allows Spidey to be in Avengers, I think they will at least make connections saying they share the same universe. I would LOVE to see Andrew and RDJ as Spidey and Stark trade some witty insults!

Agreed. I can't expand or break down what you said. It so perfectly represents how I feel.

Civil War will NEVER happen. Spidey and Reed and Sue had way too significant parts in that story. Daredevil to a lesser extent. For Civil War to happen, Marvel would need to get the rights back to both Spidey and FF, re-introduce both franchises with at least 2 movies each to set them up properly (not to mention having to establish Luke Cage, Falcon, Carol Danvers, The Thunderbolts and a whole giant sized list of other characters), and by the time all of that happens, we're looking at Avengers 10 in 2025. Which is more than enough time to have re-booted Avengers all over again, making it even more impossible to get that story done.

Or more likely... they'll just put out a watered down version of Civil War to hurry up and cash in.
MARVEL: SuSM, AvengingSM, Venom, ScarletSpider, UncannyAvengers, Thunderbolts, WaTXM, Deadpool, DC: Batman, Suicide Squad, BeforeWatchmen, IMAGE: WalkingDead, DARKHORSE: StarWars

In my dream world, we get 6 "ASM" Garfield Spidey flicks. Round flick 5, all of the legal and profit and character sharing work is played out between Disney and Sony for crossovers. ASM 5 = Ultimate Clone Saga (lots of SHIELD in that) ASM 6 = Ultimate Sinister Six / Death of Spider-Man (also lots of SHIELD in that, Hell, Disney puts out a "New Avengers vs. Ultimates" movie a month beforehand to tie in!). Movie 7? "All New Ultimate Spider-Man" featuring Miles Morales!

No!!!! I hate Miles Morales! Hate! Hate! Hate! Please, God, just re-cast Peter and don't bring in that god-awful excuse of a character. Peter Parker IS Spider-Man!

TASM should take place a good bit before Iron Man.
