This is one reason why it makes sense for Mystique to be in Spider-Man's world because she could playoff Peter Parker, Matt Murdock, and Logan with her manipulation tactics.

Imagine if Carlie Cooper or Felicia Hardy was Mystique all along?

They just pair well in a "good cop, bad cop" way. Spidey's younger, light hearted and optimistic. Logan is the gruff, no nonsense and cynical senior partner. Deep down Logan respects Spidey's convictions and usually holds back on the stabby-stabby when around Pete or tries to keep Spidey out of situations in which he feels could compromise Pete's values. (The first Spidey and Wolverine mini back in the 1980's.) It may not seem logical by real world standards but for serial fiction it works well to have such different attitudes working together.

Plus, after a time-travelling mishap they spent a couple years in the Old West together, and became blood brothers. There are just some situations you can't pick who your friends are!

As for Spidey and Deadpool, they work great depending on the writer (Joe Kelley) I kind've see them as the Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck of the Marvel Universe, respectively. Spidey makes with the Bugs Bunny wisecracks, while Deadpool tries to steal his spotlight and ends up with his face blown off.

There may come a point when it gets dull. It hasn't happened yet.

The two play off each other nicely. It's funny to see Spider-Man as the straight man.

by that logic he should hate Rogers as well. How Ben and May raised him affects how he acts it has no controllover what he sees in others, he knows Logan is a hero despite having similar methods

you can vehemently disagree with some one about some thing and still be friends with them.
I'm so bored with this martyrdom routine, this halo all you X-men love to polish. Self-described soldiers adorned in an "X" with no dedication to what it actually stands for.

I gotta ask, why are you so invested in seeing Pete hook up with Mystique? Spidey seems to have no real trouble meeting ladies and there are alot of better suited female superheroes for him to hook up with if Marvel ever went that route. (Ms. Marvel, Silver Sable, Julie Carpenter: hey she's actually in the books and I don't think Peter's ever dated a MILF yet.) Why Mystique???

When it comes to Peter & Logan, they're basically the odd couple. While they both have mutual respect for each other, they always wind up getting on each other nerves. However they are friends, though they won't admit it.

    Hi Hambone,
Before I provide an explanation about Mystique, let me talk about the female heroes. While it's nice to see Ms. Marvel, Julia Carpenter, and Silver Sable as good friends with Spider-Man, it would be nice to see a little expansion to include Jessica Drew, Jennifer Walters, Natasha Romanoff, and Betsy Braddock.

Regarding Mystique, there is a story about her that would make things interesting for Spider-Man regarding his family's past and the fact that she's much closer to him than any other character. And I am not talking about romantic hookups either. This connection would be tied with Destiny's direct connection to Peter's family history. Something that Marvel has not addressed on an indepth manner. Of course Raven is neither good nor evil. But she does things that suits her interests. And bring in Vanessa Carlysle into the mix and you'll have a story that readers will be talking about. Here is Vanessa's info:

Captain America was a soldier in World War 2. Wolverine kills people just because he can.

I don't think killing would be an "agree to disagree" issue for Peter.

Hmmm, I was not aware Destiny had a connection to Peter Parker's past, was it something to do with his secret agent parents? I don't really see Spidey spending much time with Mystique as either friends or lovers though, unless she completely changed her ways. (He didn't agree to date Felicia Hardy until she agreed to stop stealing things.) If Mystique isn't going to change her ways for her daughter Rogue, it's probably not going to happen.

Wolverine only kills bad guys, (unless he's being mind-controlled.) He doesn't just kill anyone or because he can.

I don't know...Mystique is in the new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and just helped kill Fantomex. That's kind of evil. Plus, the rest of that team is Sabretooth, Daken, Shadow King, Age of Apocalypse Blob (who ATE the wife of that universe's Nightcrawler), and some clones of Omega Red. Running with that crowd says a lot about her.
I had a letter printed once in Amazing Spider-Man #604!

Before Marvel NOW!, my pull list was 14 Marvel books. Now, it's more like 5 Marvel, 7 DC, and a few indies.

When did this Old West thing happen? I'm gonna have to hunt that down now...

Either issue 5 or 6 of "Astonishing Spider-man and Wolverine." Pete became a cowboy and was getting married, Logan was chieftain of a native american tribe. They were bouncing around time (Stone Age, etc) and end up stuck there for awhile.

Definitely going back and picking that up now. Don't know why I passed it over when it first came out.
