I am looking forward to The Man of Steel. It is shaping up to be a great reinvention of Superman, yet staying true to the character. Hope it opens the DC Cinematic Universe.
Is this emo Superman? Looks cool.

Oh God, it just sounds like garbage. Superman doesn't need to be reinvented as some ersatz comic book Wolverine.
Have to agree. The ACTUAL scenes sound cool, but just not for a Superman film. The only two good films were 1 and 2, I like Returns enough but again not a good Superman movie especially as it was too big a homage to the first one.
Why can't they just make Superman a superhero?
Marvel have got this SO right recently.
The ONLY character that has ever worked 'dark' (by the way this is just a continuation of what you said I agree completely, just in case this is read out of context lol) was Batman. They 'dark'ed the Hulk, look what happened, twice, they 'dark'ed the Flash (TV series) and that bombed, they just 'emo'ed Spidey and that's not really hitting the sweet spot. Even The Punisher, who's 'dark' by his very nature fails.
Yet you give them Thor, Cap and Iron Man (as well as Raimi's Spidey) and BANG people love them.
Note to WB step away from the Batman!
Hopefully he melts a crook begging for mercy with his laser eyes, burns down his hideout and then walks out of the place wearing shades as highway to hell plays in the background as the area explodes in flames.
I'm beginning to think that Hell is a comic book forum.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's so dark? From what I've read here, it doesn't seem any darker, nor any more novel, than Smallville. A little help please?
Here is a cam version of the CC teaser:

They said they won't be using the traditional Superman theme, it's weird to picture a Superman movie without the theme.
A woman can move a lot faster with her skirt up than a man can with his pants down.
The temp score is pretty dreary, hopefully the real thing is more heroic. It's going to be tough to compete with Williams' overture.
Wrong and different strokes when it comes to Spider-Man. What failed with Punisher is in the two movies they tried to lighten up the character. In War Zone it was more of a Robert Rodriguez movie starring someone thats not Punisher. So it wasn't so much that them making Punisher dark is what failed it was making him not dark.
Still why was the Reeve Superman films, sans the III, IV, and Returns were looked so favorably? Because it featured Superman being Superman. No dark and broody crap that DC's trying to force upon him but just him saving countless lives.
Also I take back some of what I said about the dark comment. Dark can work but only towards characters that fit. Batman for one is perfect when you're doing something dark. For example the Arkham games is probably the darkest I have seen out of the Batman mythos and they were awesome but making a character dark when they're not supposed to be is stupid IMO
