Well, considering how Arune Singh stated that Spider-Man was a part of Marvel NOW! but didn't go into specifics, I'd say the odds of Amazing Spider-Man getting re-issued #1 after issue #700 just went up.

And thus I'm still sticking to my guns that Peter Parker retire from being Spider-Man and passes the mantle onto someone else--most likely Alpha--in issue #700, which probably would mean that, if accurate, the last page will be that of the new Spidey wearing the new costume as shown in the Marvel NOW! teaser.

It's probably being reformated into a Marvel Now book. Who knows how many issues Joe Mad will actually draw, even with a year-long headstart, but that's what I expect.
