Didn't Shane Black say that the Mandarin was a racist stereotype and that he wouldn't be the villain? I wonder what changed his mind in such short notice.
wow.. that was a lot revealed. I think it was quite a spoiler heavy preview. Maybe they revealed too much. especially the part about Tony's mansion being attacked/destroyed. They should have really tried to save that for a surprise. Also Kingsley as the Mandarin. we already know he is in the film, but a full reveal may have been too much. I just hope that things haven't crossed the threshold where almost the entire film is spoiled before the actual premiere, with this rush to have teasers and extended previews to get the "early fan co-sign".. just saying..
Forgive my combativeness. It's just you can only hear the same complaint about a movie so many times, only to have Marvel Studios continue to rock our socks anyways that I find it a little silly. I understand its fun to be a cynic, and indeed, raised in this shitty world its almost a requirement.
But if any studio deserves the benefit of the doubt its Marvel Studios.

I don't think its a complaint that the movie will now suck but people trying to go in with a blank slate not having cool little moments spoiled. This is an extreme example but my sister was watching a Beautiful Mind in class and the teacher spoiled the entire ending/second half. She still liked it but was disappointed to know that despite never seeing the movie before.
You know, Iron Man and Avengers got me to really like Iron Man, but man do his villains suck.
The Avengers trailers didn't even scratch the surface really. The best parts of the film were not in the trailers. Like Hulk vs Thor, and Hulk one shotting that giant dragon thing.
He has got a pretty weak rogues gallery. But Mandarin? Mandarin is awesome. And with Ben Kingsley playing him i have high expectations.
Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!
If someone wants a blank slate, they probably shouldn't be following stuff like this.
That's kind of his point. People were saying the exact same kind of thing leading up to the Avengers because there was just so much jam packed into the trailers and previews. You sort of got to the point where you had to wonder "okay, what's left then?"
There was a point where he was making the rounds back in the early nineties (He was getting some major play in X-Men for a while).
I'm excited! I am totally in the bag for all of these movies.
I take it that Comic Con footage of Iron Man 3 isn't online yet?
