Hey guys and gals. First post ever here. Been a comic lover since I was about 2 years old (I am 30 now). Left comics a few years back because of a big move across the country. Been slowly getting back in the DCU. This whole 52 thing is very different to me. Now living in SD I decided to go to comic con for the first time. Wow was it amazing. Met Geoff John's, Scott Snyder and Jim Lee. Sat at most of the DCU panels the past few days (they were ok).
Anyways, if this is true about Tim Drake never being the Robin after Jason that upsets me. Tim Drake was my Robin. If you were young in the 90's and early 2000's Tim was it. I was and always will be a big fan of his. I hope DC does not forget who Tim is and was. Dont throw everything out.
DC was legally binded from using her in the cartoon. Same with Young Justice. As for whether the previous Titans existed, take the latest statement from Lobdell below with a grain of salt, since I understand that comments being blogged from the panel may not be 100% correct.
As for his comments on Tim Drake's career, I think at best it runs contrary to previously established canon for the nu52 as Snyder has him listed as a former Robin in Batman and even Lobdell has Tim pictured with Batman in his old Robin suit from Teen Titans #1.
Of course, this does lend weight to the above capture that character/team decisions have changed within DC. Overall we can agree that the continuity launched here is sloppy and may be difficult for some to ignore if it affects multiple books.

http://chifuyu.tumblr.com/post/27277137409/wait-whatJust so I get this right?
Tim does not know that Bruce Wayne is Batman?
But in B&R he was invited to the family portrait?
He was down in the cave to confront Damian? Who he knows is Robin? And who he also knows is Bruce’s son?
He was seen with Jason in RHatO, discussing Alfred’s waffles.
He was named as Robin in Batman and in B&R.
But you want to tell me he does not know that Bruce Wayne is Batman? Man, must have been pretty awkward for him to sit in that family portrait sitting? Yeah, totally makes sense, Lobdell.
this is crazy
As much as I hate Tim Drake, this is really dumb, he was Robin for way to long for it all to be ignored.
I think you guys are misunderstanding what the live posts were saying...Or I at least hope so.
From what I gather, Tim's origin is mostly the same but updated. In the new version, he was about 98% close to figuring out Batman's identity, which is what triggered Bruce to take him in. He was calling himself "Robin" while doing so, but once he became official and Batman revealed everything to him, he took on the name Red Robin out of respect for Jason Todd.
Nothing has really changed but his name and some trimming on his history.
Yes, it is stupid and pointless. I just don't think we're understanding what has been said.
For what its worth, on DCCOMICS.com's official comic con panel coverage, it omits everything Lobdell said and just says that issue zero is about how Tim Drake became Batman's third ROBIN.
I think Red Robin just means "Different from the usual Robin" that we associate with Jason and Dick. It's certainly not worth trying to think about.
Its another one of those things that will immediately be forgotten once an editor or new writer takes control.
I'm pretty sure everyone here believes Dick lead the original Teen Titans and when DC wants to reboot that story or push it forward, we'll get this mini-event crossover between Tim and Dick's teams.
So far, I only see evidence of a previous Teen Titans and that Tim was called Robin before Bruce got lost in time. Until an editor writes himself in the comic as a character(like Morrison did) and explains why that is wrong, I'm going to continue assuming it to be correct.
I still don't understand why they keep using the name "Red Robin"...Since it is such a terrible name to begin with...
Probably because they were using Alex Ross's design from Kingdom Come. But even that character was never actually called "Red Robin" in-story.
I believe that Tim was Robin as well until DC literally says he was not 100%
I dont think this was necessary. Doesnt this make Tim a more freelance superhero than Bruce's sidekick, the perfect Robin, and everything that he was? Seriously, who sits down and analyzes the timeline to see if everything fits perfectly? Oh wait... people in forums do.
Just go with it, who cares?
If Tim was never Robin and wasn't driven out of the role, who started Batman Inc. and why? I mean erasing Dick's past felt messed up but this really effects other titles. Including Snyder's, and Tomasi's.
There ain't no teens watching Teen Titans Go.
