I was out of comics between 94 and 2005 and missed Impact.I've seen a few of them around and often wished they were available in trade because they seemed like a halfway decent reboot of what I remember to be the originals from the Silver Age.The problem with Impact is the same I have with the current post DC, Archie relaunch, and that is making them teen heroes.Considering all the great stuff that was out there at the time both Marvel and DC kept bringing comics out in the mid 90's aimed at a market that was shrinking rapidly if it was even still there. The latest launch seems to be aimed at creating a Cartoon Network Young Justice type show somewhere down the line.Lot's of luck with that Archie. It's too bad because without bringing out too many books at the same time DC's latest mistake, the characters have ,with the right creative teams,as much potential as Nu Valiant in my opinion.Glad to see Fly is in other hands, that along with some abandoned Red Circle characters that may not be in Archies hands, according to another poster on another thread here, may get picked up some day and done right. After all Fly had the powers of many insects and like Ant Man could call them for assistance if I remember correctly. If not it could be written in.As far as Flies being distasteful insects you could Steve Niles/Mike Mignola up the quotient on that aspect and have him emerging from swarms of Flies and other insects when he makes the transition, and being somewhat distrusted and feared as a result.None of this will happen of course because Red Circle has been living under a curse from the get go.
