Or Image, in my case. Lots of good stuff coming out of independants right now. DC is going to have to come up with a hell of a sales pitch to get me back, as I really have no desire to subject myself to having my favorite characters disappear at a whim, or having to trudge through some multi part epic every time I want to read a simple Batman story.

Luckily for DC, they're funded by a huge corporation, so there aren't likely to be any serious repercussions to the brand. They can afford to have this attitude so long as the characters are profitable in other media. But as someone who has worked with small businesses, treating customers like this is a sure way to find yourself out on the street.

I'm going to choose to look at this positively, we may not be getting Stephanie but hopefully we will be getting a Barbara that isn't a incredible bore.
Plus the original announcement got me to pick up the first few issues which were better then the current Superman books, save for Action.

What a dick move on DC's part. All the other changes Smallville made with the DC history to suit it's story, and now they've pulled the rug out from under Miller to try and say they want the most iconic characters? It's laughable.

At least this may mean we'll get a book that won't have a dull, boring Barbara so thats a plus. Bullshit that this is happening but still a plus.

    Fixed.

And I totally agree. Dick is the "iconic" Nightwing. Steph and Babs have never been Nightwing. To say that they are replacing Steph as Nightwing with Babs as Nightwing because that's more iconic is completely ridiculous. It's also ridiculous that they can't even let Steph exist in an alternate universe that has absolutely nothing to do with the New 52.

Babs currently appears in Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Ame-Comi Girls, and Young Justice. That's three different versions of the character across three universes. Steph is nowhere. This is not a good change. This is not a good decision. This is not good in any way.
    Current favorites:

    DC: Smallville, Supergirl, Detective Comics
Marvel: Ultimate X-Men, Scarlet Spider, X-Factor, Thor
Other: Saga, Angel & Faith, Buffy

I'm still convinced Lobdell is an agent of Marvel sent to destroy DC.

    Barbara in nightwing suit?

    Can't help but think this

"Look when you called me, I just woke up and kinda put the first suit that was around in the bedroom....I only noticed it was Dick's costume when I was already halfway here"

Oh, Dan. Never let it be said you knew how to keep a writer happy and mollify a fanbase in a way that wouldn't negatively impact sales one iota.

I'm sure Bryan Q. Miller is thrilled and super eager to keep doing work for DC.

    Steph fans, my sincere condolences.

My thoughts too. I don't understand the logic behind this.

Probably better that way anyway. Much as I'm sure BQM would have written a good Smallville Steph, the original series was fantastic.

    Enjoy!
