I am fanboying so hard right now.
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

So...wait...after putting out ABSOLUTE SANDMAN VOL. 5 so all Gaiman's SANDMAN work would be included...does this mean they've got to do another one?? :P
I kid, obviously. This. Is. BRILLIANT.
Great news for Vertigo this is going to amazing
I would have thought for sure that any Gaiman announcement would have been Marvelman related... but I almost prefer this.
How long is this series supposed to be? Any idea?

Before Sandman!

Never read Sandman, but heard awesome things about it. Would this be a good jumping on point, or where there a lot of questions asked in Sandman that will be answered in this. Would I appreciate it more if I read Sandman before? Also, another quick question. I hear there are tons of spinnoffs. Are any of them good?

...whoa...
This is incredible! Can we pay AHEAD?!!
I like that this is kind of BEFORE Sandman! Show them how a prequel's done, Neil. I haven't enjoyed a Vertigo series as much as Sandman (The Unwritten comes close, though).
Seriously, though, this would not have been possible if Karen hadn't maintained a strong relationship with Neil over the years. I remember that he has a gentleman's agreement with Karen that he'd never write for DC again if they ever let anyone else write Morpheus.
Also, I wonder how much they're paying him? I remember reading (either in an interview or Neil's blog) that the last Sandman project for the 20th Anniversary got derailed because of money; something like Neil wanting a proportionate payment along the lines of his book contracts because writing Sandman would take him away from writing his novels.
Having Williams III on board is just excessive. Let other comics have some awesomeness!! Just kidding, this is amazing!!
Sequential Anarchy
Current favorite ongoing series: Fatale, Saga, Judge Dredd, Batman Inc, Batwoman, Daredevil
Amazing news.
So will this take place before Morpheus was captured?
