So Kyle Higgins said issue 15 and 16 of Nightwing feature the Joker. So I guess the crossing over for the comics will start in December..

I'm cool with the crossover, especially if they continue to do them the way they have been, but why does Higgins need a fill in writer to do it? Isn't this the only book he's writing? And more importantly, Defalco? Really? I just dropped Superboy because Defalco's writing made Lodbell's look like Snyder's.

So, the basic summary of everything said in the panel before the Q/A is, "Read the solicits"

Not really excited for any of this. Thought there'd be more.

Pretty much, but that's the way DC's been since they moved to the "wave" program. There's not really much more for them to say as they've been announcing things as they happen.

Thats what I hate about the format. First, in order for new books, old ones "have" to be cancelled now, and as evident in this panel, there's never anything to announce now. No one even asked any good questions.

I heard that questions were being screened. Not sure if its true but it may explain why some questions were not asked.

I'm not sure if I like having Nightwing cross over into Batman's stories so much but we'll see how it's handled.

One thing I noticed that I don't think was mentioned before--I think Gail's talk about Batgirl #0 slips that Jim Gordon's known about Babs since way early on in her career.

I don't know if i like all the joker tie ins with the bat books. He's never been my favorite villain, i'm not looking forward to his appearance in batgirl, and if he's heading over to nightwing too, i may have to rethink my decision to pick up the book again. As for talon, i'm interested in hearing that he's an escape artist, but his costume is just fugly. Makes me wonder about mister miracle and other fourth world characters, though.

Indeed. I remember the day when the big announcements were made at the major conventions. Anymore it seems like they make them before the conventions.

Yeah, nothing new said but I don't know what I was expecting anyway. Maybe some hints about Dick developing some connections outside the Bat-verse or some of his old compatriots possibly appearing in his book would have been nice, even if unrealistic at this point.

Was curious if they would bring up the Catwoman and Starfire controversies, but it seems like they just shrugged their shoulders at it. And I don't know what to make of this Talon series. A Red Robin solo would probably do better but I guess they are saving that card to use later. Aside from when the Joker is appearing in the other books just not a whole lot to say really.

I learned awhile back to never expect much in the way of announcements at CCI panels, particularly ones that happen so early in the convention. It's mostly just a combination of vaguely dropped hints, rehashes of news already announced elsewhere or variations on the "I really can't say anything about that at this time" theme.
