    Default Is Astro City completed?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I figured this was the closest thing to a Wildstorm section. Anyway, I just finished reading the final part of the Dark Age storyline at my local library (I swear I read the first part what feels like a couple of years ago), and I must admit I am hooked all over again. The story itself was very good (though I definitely prefer some of the earlier stories simply based on subject matter), and now I'm left wanting more. However, a quick peek at the Astro City Wikipedia entry shows the Publication info as 1995-2010. I know wiki isn't always the most accurate source, but does this mean Astro City was completed with this last story? Did they ever explain how Silver Agent was time jumping (it's been so long since I read the first part of Dark Age that I don't remember if it was really explained and part 2 seemed to only have like one page detailing this)?

There was a miniseries that dealt with Silver Agent and his time jumping that was out around Dark Ages. I can't remember the name though. I hope to see more Astro City. I've always loved this series. Though as far as I know, Dark Ages was the last story. Nothing has come out since then.

I heard something a few months back about a new Astro City ongoing coming out soon (within the next year).I guess Busiek's had health problems to deal with, though.

Hmmm interesting. I hope he is feeling better. I love his work and I hope he does indeed have plans for more Astro City.

I wonder if they've collected that Silver Agent mini in TPB, because that's basically been the only way I've been able to read Astro City?

Unfortunately, he isn't feeling better (last I heard) quite yet. That's part of the reason Brent Anderson, who usually provides the art for Astro City, was recruited for the new Phantom Stranger comic. He needed to do something to pay the bills! (Although I hear he's quite enthusiastic about Phantom Stranger.)
Currently reading far too many comics to list (mostly DC/Vertigo), despite the best hope of my parents that I'd outgrow comics by the time I turned 50.

If you be patient Mr. Kurt Busiek will probably answer the question himself.

You could ask him on Twitter.. He often talks on there and tends to be very nice about answering questions posed to him.

There's also a Ask Kurt Busiek Thread over on the Marvel U board.

No, ASTRO CITY isn't done. It's just been on hiatus for a variety of reasons, from the shuttering of Wildstorm to me having unpleasant hospital adventures. But I'm currently recovering from surgery, and once I'm up to writing again, I'll resume the ASTRO CITY script I was in the middle of when my health went from crummy to super crummy.

But there's already more than another book collection's worth of story and art done, waiting for us to get regular production restarted, so it can be scheduled.

That Silver Agent two-parter that was mentioned is collected in ASTRO CITY: SHINING STARS, which is only out in hardcover so far.

That's great news. I hope you feel better soon, Mr. Busiek! I'll definitely have to keep my eye out for "Shining Stars" next time I go to the bookstore. I'll probably also ask my local library to see if it's in the pipeline. They've actually been pretty good about acquiring Astro City properties (it's how I got into the title in the first place, all those years ago), so I wouldn't be surprised if that'll come next.

This is amazing, Kurt Busiek is pretty much my favorite writer ever. I mean, I'm writing my Novel because of him (which let's admit it- is a pain in the ass). I only read most of his stuff from my Libary but god willing, I'm going to track down every single comic book he ever done.

Yes, this also means the defenders, and the Untold Tales of Spider-Man.

I would be more excited by the return of Astro City more than anything in the new 52.

Hey Kurt, do you know if it be published under the main DC imprint?

Just stop before you get as far as SPIDER-MAN/X-FACTOR: SHADOWGAMES.

And if you don't, well, I warned you.

Yes. But not as part of the DCU.

Agreed. One of the best comic book series of all times. I'm no fan of the new 52, but between this and the Gaiman's Sandman, it looks like DC will still be getting my money.
