    In the midst of Comic-Con madness, DC Comics has unveiled variant covers for Before Watchmen by Jim Steranko, Steve Rude, Paul Pope, Tim Bradstreet, Jim Lee, Cliff Chiang and David Finch.

    Goddamn that Pope cover is cool! In fact most of these are pretty magnificent, Lee's being the only exception.

    Also Bradstreet is the perfect man for a series like Comedian.

    God, Steranko and Paul Pope...astonishing.

    The rest are good to, but those...those are art, baby.

    Steve Rude's cover reminds me...I wonder if they are going to announce Wednesday Comics II this SDCC. He has supposedly been working on a New Gods story for that for like 2 years, hasn't he?

    Last I had heard about Steve Rude was him begging people to buy his artwork so he wouldn't lose his house.

    Steranko is getting two hardcover releases this year; one bio and one art.
