How about Captain Spectrum then? She was a coast guard captain after all (it's part of the origin of her Captain Marvel name). Personally, I'd prefer Captain Spectra or simply Spectra.

I have to say, I was excited about this book (long time Carol fan) but that preview sold me even more. Kelly Sue is a great writer and I'm excited for what she will do. I wouldn't worry about her treatment of Monica, in Kelly Sue I trust!!

Getting all the previous Captain Marvels (Carol, Monica, Noh-Varr, and maybe even Mar-Vell again) together for some sort of story.

Shame they didn't do that in the Secret Avengers tie-in's to AvX. Monica could have showed up in that too.

Did Phylla ever use the Capt. sobriquet? Can't remember.

And Monica would've made a lot of sense on that SA mission too.

it's not a great look. it's completely unimaginative and very drab. carol was re-branded to hopefully get her some more press. monica should get the same treatment.

Yes, when she first appeared it was to take over for her, then, insane brother. She did go around calling herself Captain Marvel, though I don't know if anyone else other than mommy dearest did. Now, both her and her brother are dead, and Hulking is the only son of the original Captain Mar-vell still around.

We do need more coat guards in the MU.

no lie. i don't know that i have read anything by this writer before. but the dialogue is sharp. and, so far, everyone seems to be in character. i'm rooting for this book.

I still find Hulkling's claim to be the son of Captain Mar-Vell a bit dubious. If he really is the son of Mar-vell, then he should only be about 5 or 6 years old, not a teenager. Maybe his dad was one of the Super Skrulls, programed to look and act just like Mar-Vell. Much like Noh-Varr, Hulkling has been a neglected character. Here's hoping that his heritage is explored some more in the upcoming Captain Marvel series.

I am also hoping that in this series we may see a return of Suzy Sherman/Ultra Girl, and maybe the return from the dead Ghenis-Vell.

I would love for Hulkling to be retconned. Also I wish they would bring back Mar-Vell for real. He and Carol could be a great power couple for the Marvel Universe.

Don't have any particular opinion either way about Hulking, but the one I really would like to see broght back is Genis-vell, bonded once more to Rick Jones. They had such fantastic chemestry. I still laugh myself silly when I remember that Rick convinced Genis that Jenny was a very masculine way of calling him. Or when he came up with a battle cry for him. So many priceless moments.

Oh that's great to hear. Kelly Sue did an interview a little while ago and you could tell that she really liked Monica and wanted to use her. It seemed like she hadn't written about her yet but was thinking of a way to introduce her. I wasn't expecting her to show up anytime soon but good to hear that it's confirmed that she's appearing. Hopefully she's wearing her white and black costume ...

Wonderful news! If Kelly Sue Deconnic plays her cards right she could really open up Captain Marvel like Geoff Johns did with Green Lantern.

Glad to see Monica making back into a title. She's a very good character that deserves to be in a title somewhere.
