Well, I appreciate Namor's speedo and would be happy to start a conversation about his giant wet frothy tidal wave (it's on topic too!).

The speedo is indeed nice, but the abs are the real selling point.

The abs are definitely high on the list, and there's something to be said for intriguingly covering them up partially.

But I tend to think that that it's more Marvel's (and some fans') fear of nekkid male sexuality. Plus the Speedo says tons about Namor's personality.

No, the invasion of Wakanda can't be foreplay, it's the clearly the culmination. I prefer the tidal wave, over the world burning, metaphor.

Aah, the sea elf appeal -- it too is high on list. Obviously, I find the ankle wings appealing. They are a gift from the gods! And I bet they tickle.

I agree on the ankle wings. I used to think they looked ridiculous but now I increasingly want to touch them. STILL think the artists dropped the ball by not having them turn into little flames now that he's in Phoenix mode.

The ankle wings can look ridiculous, if an artist draws them as paltry little chicken wings, and skimp out on the feathers. But when drawn properly, in their sandals of Hermes glory, like real wings with lots of properly placed feathers, they look awesome! And yes, they are intriguing, cause they are magical. Something that can't logically exist, but does, like a unicorn horn, or pegasus wings, or angel wings. And then there's the question of exactly how they work.

Adam Kubert actually drew the ankle wings as Phoenix flames in this issue! I was so happy to see that. Of course, he still has those shoulder wings, but oh well.
