    Default Wonderland Saga (Zenescope) thread.

I love this series, easily Zenescope's best. The original three minis by Raven were all great. The Tales spinoffs weren't as good, but Alice in Wonderland and Call of Wonderland have both been excellent as well.

I just read the 2012 Annual, which was awesome. Fantastically atmospheric with beautiful, haunting artwork. It leads into the upcoming ongoing series which I am really looking forward to.

    Anyone else enjoy this series?

Not trolling here, but... I look at all the Zenescope covers and they look really brokeback-90's-tna-cheesy. What are the best Zenscape series/arcs/titles of all time? I like good stories and a huge variety of art styles. I don't *mind* gga covers and hot girls in comics... but that's not primarily why I read them. What stories from Zenescope are must reads?

Obviously, I'm going to recommend the Wonderland trilogy - (in order) Return to Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, Escape from Wonderland. Far more than t&a, but an excellently written horror story.
Then follow with Alice in Wonderland and Call of Wonderland. Tales of Wonderland can be left till last, but the Annuals are good as well.

I also recommend The Waking and Fly - also written by Raven Gregory. I'd pretty much recommend anything written by him.

Some of their other series are good too, but none anywhere near as good. I do NOT recommend the Grimm Fairy Tales main series. It is unfortunate that Zenescope's main flagship title, is also their weakest.

    Thanks - appreciate the insight.

The Wonderland Trilogy is their best stuff by far in my opinion. Just great stuff. If you do wanna read Grimm Fairy Tales, read the earlier material when it was just about fairy tales with a twist. They were pretty fun in my opinion.

Also the Herbert West Reanimator issues were great, and it's a shame they didn't continue on. The first Living Corpse series came out from Zenescope and it's a fun series as well.

    Wonderland #1 released today.

Good first issue. I love the portrayal of Calie on the absolute edge of total madness. The kid looks like being a worthy new Hatter. And I look forward to seeing the Queen of Spade's plan.

Seems to be a bit of a slow burn to the start of this new ongoing, rather than the fast paced starts to the previous series', but still a good read.

I've never read the Wonderland titles, but I've really been enjoying Zenescope's almost-finished Jungle Book mini. It's got cheesecake covers but the inside art is much more realistic, and I like the way they updated the story.

That said, I love Zenescope covers, some of the Wonderland ones especially.

I have only read the "Alice in Wonderland" 6-part series, but I will say I was really surprised with the quality of the writing. It was an enjoyable read.

Agreed! I thought it was a tad unbalanced, the earlier issues better paced, but still good.

I really love what you're doing with this Wonderland ongoing. Actually, I buy any book with you as the writer because it's all been fantastic. I really hope you have more Theater stories to tell.

    Keep up the good work!

To anyone else that hasn't read any of these books yet, I think you can jump in with the Wonderland ongoing and be okay. Obviously it's better to read the other stuff because you'll know more about the characters, so in that case check out wikipedia for the reading order, that's what I did.
