or knock people out with fucking front kicks to the face
yeah Silvia looks bored in half his fights.

Man is stupidly talented.
I also love this interview excerpt. Just a great description of how Silva goes "lolnope" at punches.
Transient just likes to do that.
Why he keeps picking up ridiculous arguments and then try to defend them, I will never know.
LoL. Being in gangs make you more badass than training your body, increasing your strength, speed, endurance, technique and all that? Also, the point of a street fight is that it isn't supposed to have a record - it's taking place on the STREET.I don't know any record of Silva being a street fighter either, but Bruce Lee actually was. He was involved in gangs in China, there's even police reports of him almost nearly killing a man who sucker-punched him.
Also, here's another internet quote - In 1962, Lee knocked out Uechi, a Japanese black belt Karateka, in 11 seconds in a 1962 Full-Contact match in Seattle. It was refereed by Jesse Glover. The incident took place in Seattle at a YMCA handball court. Taki Kamura says the battle lasted 10 seconds in contrary to Hart's statement. Ed Hart states "The karate man arrived in his gi (uniform), complete with black belt, while Bruce showed up in his street clothes and simply took off his shoes. The fight lasted exactly 11 seconds – I know because I was the time keeper – and Bruce had hit the guy something like 15 times and kicked him once. I thought he'd killed him
That's cute. Silva remains almost undefeated in UFC and has embarrassed other fighters who are also very good.
He taught to kill, yet.. he's not a murderer. nor has he any record of killing someone in the ring. Kind of hard to "train to kill" when you yourself haven't killed shit. Or are you going to say "He might have! He was a street fighter and all!" No. JKD is worthless.Bruce Lee developed a fighting style for actual combat, not competition. Styles like Jiu-Jitsu are mainly used in competitions, based off of a submissive style. Jeet Kune Do is entirely different. The man taught to kill.
Which is why fighters in the MMA, which doesn't prohibit any particular style of fighting, don't use it, despite it's supposed efficacy. Are you hearing yourself now?JKD isn't used in MMA because there is no ground game involved whatsoever. It's mainly a striking Martial Art.
Martial Arts have evolved significantly in the past 40 years. If Bruce were to make a martial arts movie with the same moves he did back then, I dare say, people won't be impressed. Styles like Jiu Jutsu and other ground-games also weren't all that exposed until the Gracies mainstreamed it. And like Gen said, that's not even mentioning how much the style has evolved. You make it seem like Martial Arts hasn't done anything the past 40 years. It has.But to assume a fighter on the level of Bruce Lee, still hailed by every great fighter of that generation as the absolute best, doesn't have any ground game? I highly doubt that, it's ignorant to think about.
Honestly, your "But Bruce Lee has street fighting feats!" (despite their being no documentation or even a proper description of said fight) is hilarious. It's like you think only Bruce will fight "dirty" or "all out" and Silva will just limit himself to being the "good guy" and fight "fair." What's to stop Silva, with his very visible superior fighting, weight, reach and strength from outright pulverizing Lee's nads with a couple of well placed ground and pounds? Nothing.
First of all.. best on the planet is Fedor. =P Second, he doesn't have to be the best to beat up on Bruce Lee like those bullies did to Daniel in Karate Kid. He just can.you see that there i must disagree with you not taking anything away from mr silva but to say he is the best on the planet....as much as i believe bruce would beat him i would never say he was the best on the planet. best in UFC in his WEIGHT CLASS sure but in the world..just no

Ummm you do realise who Bruce Lee was right? The guy was ridiculously in shape. Ignoring his fighting feats is one thing, ignoring the fact that he was probably one of the most athletic men to ever live is another.

I realize that this is a highly charged subject - Bruce Lee, god knows why - but please keep things respectful, both to other posters and the...um...characters. The participants in the Rumble.
I'm about this close to a moritarium on Bruce Lee, because every thread with him is the same thing, over and over again. On both sides.
