Default How would you like to participate on your favorite stories?

Do you think would be cool to be able to participate on the stories that you follow?

How would you like to do that? Talking with the author? Giving ideas? Giving feedback? See the creation process? Appear in the comic?

What do you guys think would be awesome?

No, I don't think it's acceptable to make death threats against authors if they kill off a character you like.

We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

No, it'd be like I wrote it.

So you think it's not cool to participate in any ways in the creation of the story? You prefer to just read it?

I'm really trying to figure out what kind of participation people would like to have in comics that they read, if any.

I like stuff like putting fans' names in, or design a character contests, or this, if the artist and writer feel like it. That's fun!!

I like talking to creators. I don't want to have any influence over how the story goes, like plotting. It'd be like reading a fanfic I wrote myself. It wouldn't feel like the real story, and it wouldn't be much fun for me.

Mostly, I have fun writing stuff, but I don't read my own work for pleasure.

None. I like the comics I read because the creator is the one writing it. If they allowed fans to influence their story it would more than likely instantly suck. If this is some kind of gimmick for a new comic where you make all your decisions based on popular opinion, like an online poll or a money grabbing scheme by having people text YES or NO to 66391 at a buck a pop then prepare for failure. At least I hope that would fail, but cheap money grabbing gimmicks tend to be the ticket to success in the comics industry so who knows.

    rmcarvalheira has an odd wonder:

If I wanted to write, I'd write. I prefer the normal relationship between reader and printed "word".

Humm got it, thanks a lot! Yeah, I think the better thing is always let all the power in the author's hand.

What about being able to follow all the creation process? Like seeing sketches and concepts, parts of the script, comments from the editor. Do you guys usually follow this stuff?

    Nah.

If you want people to buy your comics, just make good comics.

    Cool, thanks!

And do you usually look for new stories to read or you just keep with the ones that you already follow?

Depends on how much is on my plate. When I have a lot of active titles I don't look around. As series end or go on hiatus or I drop them and my monthly score gets smaller I'll start looking around. Mostly on here and on The Comics Reporter
