    You should always tip something. If the service was terrible, tip 5%. The waiter will know you weren't happy.

    The only people who don't tip are assholes and they better hope they don't frequent an establishment with their no tipping punk ass.

    I always tip. What I meant by not having to is that their isn't a law or anything its a societal norm that almost everyone follows. Not doing it stigmatizes you but there is no rule forcing you to tip.

    A play would have to be pretty damn terrible to justify not clapping at all. Like, not only was just crap, the performers were not even trying.

    I always tip, I have no problem with that...waitstaff make next to nothing so I know they rely on tips for a good portion of their weekly income
