That's what made it all the more entertaining......The Shade feigning morally-hued dismay over that group's boasts over their past actions, all the while making them think he was truly subdued.

And yeah dialogue was never his strong suit.

I disagree on the decent writing. It's not simply his dialogue which bothered me. It's also instances like where he had Superman talking to Hal Jordan, confusing him for Kyle Rayner (I was never sure if that was a guffaw on Robinson's part or if it was intended as lame comedy relief), and Superman tells Hal Jordan that Jade, the deceased daughter of Alan Scott, "Was pretty hot." That was completely out-of-character for a polite farm-boy who's known as being virtuous.

That said, Robinson's dialogue with The Shade, as a character, is almost always fantastic. I could read a 4-issue limited series of The Shade just sitting at a table drinking tea while reminiscing about old times.

I didn't care for Atlas; I'm talking about Mon-El and World of New krypton

I didn't read that, as I jumped ship as soon as I could during the "Atlas" arc. Good to hear he got better with the subsequent material.
