And what I get from them is Carol Danvers really respects spider-man, a lot more than she lets on. I actually think a lot of the Avengers really respect Spider-Man. Its easy to forget how experienced he is, and how good he is at being a super hero. But they do have very different kinds of personalities.

But look if she thought he was an idiot she wouldn't be inviting him in civilian guise on a private (Mayhaps romantic?) plane ride. Women of that caliber, and of that level of self respect, which she certainly seems to of gained recently, don't hang out with guys they find idiotic.

In my view she respects him as a person and a hero greatly. She likes him and they are buddies, and she feels there might be a spark of something more there.
    Hi The_Ronin,
You are right that Carol has a get deal of respect for Spider-Man. I certainly look for to conclusion to the story with the next issue. Also, what are your thoughts about my post about Peter's friendship with Carol applying to the other heroines as well, which is post #42. I love to know what your comments about my thoughts are.

It's not a bad take on Carol, as it's a little like the awkward Carol in the Alias books. I would have thought Carol would have ripped that suit off the mecha guy, and told the police to arrest him. But instead, she just punches him and stands around and argues. Then the mecha guy fires on the defenseless girl and starts her gianting out instead of her dying, but nobody thinks to arrest mecha guy. What has the laws changed into in Marvel ONE?

This all seems like another universe to me. Where is it where a bank can hire subcontractors to shoot people out of the sky? Is this a replacement for super heroes now? Whatever happened in AVX it's changed the way the country runs now and the super heroes are just another arm of the security network, and not only them. Now it seems like Tech subcontractors are allowed to roam around as easily as super men. As though the super heroes are just being relegated to incidental work, but the real work of security on the ground, as that cop explained, is being handled by other agencies besides super heroes. It feels like the heroes are on holiday or something.

Did any one feel that Carol had a bit too much of an attitude? A bit snarky once they were on the ground if you ask me. I understand they got shot at but, it seemed too much. Other than that great issue and gets me excited for Captain Marvel.
I don't understand why Carol didn't rip Boston Blackies head off. What right did he have shooting at an incidental civilian airplane to get at a fleeing suspect? I thought Carol showed far too much self control, but seeing as she is military, she could understand Boston's approach, and probably, Carol has done the same thing herself in the past. I'd like to know who is behind Blackbird Boston, as if it's Norman Osborn, I wouldn't be too surprised.

Cops had no trouble with Blackbird Boston, and Carol was softly softly about the whole thing. I didn't even see Peter react to the shooting of the unarmed girl. Spidey should have webbed up that BB mechs guy and hung him up on a lamp post. Instead, Peter bends down and tries to comfort her instead. That seemed out of character, right there for Peter. His Spider sense didn't even go off. How did he ever save MJ, because this was the exact same situation as Back in Black, when Aunt May got shot?

I got a bit confused there, as Spider-Man webbed up 3 people in this one panel and it made me think Robyn Hood had 2 accomplices we weren't aware of. can someone explain to me what that scene was supposed to be?

I also heard there was already an exclusive preview for #10 on this site but I can't find it.

BTW This is my first post. Hooray!
I was surprised Robyn Hood never got a hole blown in her chest by that blast from Blackbird Boston, saying he could get his bonus even if she was in a body bag or in parts. To me, Hood seems to have extraordinary resilience, and she has Pym particles, so maybe she was Statures girl friend?

I can see Peter and Carol as a couple, but I think Carol thinks Peter is below her. Like she thinks she's more superior, or, that she just isn't attracted to Peter, and his silly jokes. Or, it's because she thinks he's like her little brother. She just doesn't see Peter as a love interest, at all.

They haven't even kissed. I think if Peter held her and kissed her, Carol would change. I think Carol is that shallow.

I wouldn't read too much into the Peter x Carol relationship. Would you rather see it take its time as friends or in the same manner as Spider-Woman x Hawkeye? The latter aspect wouldn't be ideal for either of them. Also, Silver Sable came unto him, and he backed her away. What goes around comes around depending on the writer.

I'm not sure. Taking the tack that Peter and Carol do become a couple, (which I find difficult to imagine), I suppose I would want it like Hawkeye and Spider Woman, where they hang around each other a lot and eventually flirt, but Peter isn't like that. I think Carol is from a different generation, and isn't one of those teenage coffee shop set. I think Parker would have to be more mature, and go after Carol on Carols terms. To me Carol is more a European, who likes restaurants and romantic dinners, followed by moonlight strolls. That's anathema for Parker. I think it would have to be Carols idea and she drags Peter to these venues and taylors Parker into a Euro.

Otherwise, I think Parker and Danvers would have to catch snogs on the job, but really, does anybody feel any chemistry between these two?

I think that we should wait and see how her series develops over the long run. In addition, I don't think that Spidey will be the series that often to begin with. While I could see Carol and Peter dating, it will likely remain at the friends level. This is why I felt that there needs to be some increased diversity among the heroines who are interested in Spider-Man/Peter Parker so that no one heroine will stand out as a potential love interest. Only to find another incoming writer(who might not like Spider-Man x Ms. Marvel) to break them up. There might be readers who enjoy Carol Danvers, but not Peter Parker. If Carol is to have a stable love interest, it's not going to be Spider-Man in the short term.

Well, seems like things might be warming up for the two...COMICON solicits for October.

In October's Avenging Spider-Man #13 by Kevin Shinick and Aaron Kuder, Hypno Hustler and Deadpool appear. DeConnick then brought up Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) guest-starring in current issues of the title, saying of Spidey and Carol that "They're a little flirty. We like banter in the Marvel Universe, right? Banter is good?" She played up their history in the Brian Reed penned series, Ms. Marvel where we saw them go on a date and form a friendship in that book and in New Avengers. Apparently it was DeConnick's birthday as they started singing Happy Birthday to her. In response she said "Best birthday ever. Thank you, Dan Slott!"

There was brief discussion of Scarlet Spider with Arune Singh praising the work of Chris Yost, Ryan Stegman and Khoi Pham. Then things quickly moved along to Venom.

Bunn stated that "Flash Thompson is answering for all the mistakes he has made. He's the superhero I'd probably be because he screws everything up."

Damnit, that still doesn't beat Spidey (jokingly?) telling the Heroes Reborn She-Hulk that they were lovers.
