It was the Phoenix that got Thor, really. No surprise or controversy there.

The controversy is the Psylocke/DD fight. Psylocke could have easily taken DD down without experiencing his radar sense. This was just POS.

It was how Emma used the Phoenix that defeated Thor.

Thor should lose to a Phoenix. But from what i've read it seems he was totally humiliated, again. It's like he doesn't have a movie franchise of his own and is just some D-Lister or something. Thor these days is used as nothing but a measuring stick. You know, for a artificial holy shit moment.

I tend to agree also. Starting with JoeQ and Palimotti's Marvel Knights imprint, I've often thought that Marvel has highly favored the noir genre over just about everything else.

Steve: It's just, this is gonna be a dangerous battle and I don't want you getting hurt. You've had it pretty rough so far so just take a little break for now.

Thor: You would deny the Odinson glorious battle? Don't I deserve redemption for my past humiliations?

Steve: I just think it's for the best if we just bring our best guys to minimize casualties. It's nothing personal, it's just strategy. Come on, Luke. Let's go kick some Phoenix ass.

Thor: ...F*ck this, I'm going back to Asgard.

Pumice? Like the floating rock pumice?
    Poor Thor. LOL!

Yes, Pumice. That's how Namor lost his VS fight to the Thing. He apparently was hit by a flying piece of pumice that stunned him. Apparently Pumice has far more impact force than bullets or the Thing's rocky fists.

and whitout it she would be just a pile of shiny pretty roks on the floor. And actually you got it wrong, it's the phoenix force that is using Emma.

X-Men with energy powers do tend to vacillate to unheard of levels on a whim, usually with not much payout. The only one this ever seems to be a problem for is Jean Grey. But the writers usually don't depower her; they just kill her off.

Ah. I'm mildly disappointed now. I was hoping that there was some supervillain called Pumice that could make rocks float. Ah well.

Just let everyone retire and send thor alone to every whatever threat is coming. Again it's good that the P5 are stronger then thor.

And Rachel is very powerful but she didn't really defeat thor. she landed a blow on him. Big deal. What? Thor can't even be hit anymore or something? c'mon, get over it peoples.

I think that this is what also should happen with the hulk.the hulk should lose once in while, otherwise it gets boring to read about the hulk.
I'm pretty sure they are just going to have Hulk show up at the end, do nothing, and leave.

Honestly, this is why I like not having Hulk on the Avengers or in summer crossovers aside from WWH. It keeps him from being jobbed out as much as Thor has been.

I hope that Thor is able to get revenge on Emma before she loses her powerup. Having him get physically dominated sounds depressing.

The problem of Thor being depowered in the Avengers has existed literally since the beginning. In the first 14 issues about 3 different fights end when Thor uses Mjolnir to send the bad guy to another dimension. Shortly thereafter he was written out of the book and contrary to popular belief was not around all that much over the next 45 years. Heck, Eric Masterson may have a longer uninterrupted run in the Avengers than Thor.

When Thor was around, he was regularly depowered, jobbed, or the issue of him "holding back" was expressly dealt with on page.

I am not sure that anything is new. Still, I like it when Thor let's loose and crushes some baddies.

So in other words, it's because writers don't know what to do with him, not the character himself? Good to know.

Loved!!!!!!!!! Psylocke won for me!! YAY! If Daredevil hadn't said all that stuff at the end, he'd have ended up in a coma.

I don't think there is, but there should be. Imagine the hilarity of him up against the Fantastic Four.

Exactly, and when was the last time we got that? For all the talk of Thor being a big gun and OP...do we see it? Well? It's like the "Superman is OP and only has one weakness" BS you get on the DC boards.

What we're saying is that Thor should at least be treated with a modicum of respect and actually act like the big gun writers keep telling us he is, but show him as a dimwit with a hammer and a cheap light show.
