How the PF operates has been retconned every time it has shown up, before having a fragment of it would have just as good as having all of it so there is no point questioning how powerful it makes someone. A phoenix host with decent control should normally have no problem handling Thor but you shouldn't think of that as a bad thing because being so powerful is a major factor on why the writers couldn't keep Jean around.

Funny enough, they do it again for the trailer for battle for Earth. Though I think the fact that it's Doom helps ease the pain.

It would help if the phoenix Force didnt have so many inconsistencies, like Thor being able to hurt the FULL Phoenix, but being casually manhandled by 1/5th of the power, then you have Caps shield actually knocking P5 Namor off course. yet blows from Thing, Rulk, Vision and Thor in the same ish can't even put the guy down ??

Wheres the consistency? P5 namor actually looks hurt and in pain.

And this is what Thor did to ( the same) entity 5 times more powerful:

Writer can't even keep consistent sometimes in the same damn issue, and people wonder why there is so much debate over these things.

Does it hurt less now that Phoenix Emma probably had more power when she confronted Thor? Since Thor wasn't kidnapped yet after his defeat and he was in AvX 8, I'd think she fought him after Namor went down.

Personally, I still think Thor fighting a fairly even fight (even though he ended up losing) against 1/5 or even 1/4 of the Phoenix is actually pretty good.

I think it just feels worse than it is, because it's coming on a string of loses.

No she fought him within the pages of AvX 7 the P5 are split into teams there, Emma's team is by the ocean. And Thor is in the vicinity. She doesn't capture him there just leaves him. Which is what it looks like in AvX 4.

BTW They're really downplaying telepathy in this crossover.

In AvX versus 4 Thor lost and got captured, but then you see him fighting Namor in AvX 8. Did he get captured or not?
