Default Wonder Woman Cameo in Man of Steel

    http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/m...e-woman-cameo/

SCOOP: MAN OF STEEL To Drop Hints About A Shared Universe

Buzz for Zack Snyder's Superman tale Man of Steel is at an all time high, especially with San Diego Comic Con around the corner. And word just hit that Warner Brothers is planning on announcing their plans for their next superhero franchises with in the next month or so. It is well known that DC is still far behind Marvel in the movie department, but it seems WB is taking steps to try and catch up. According to our source part of WB's plan is to use Man Of Steel and drop hints that Superman is in a shared universe with his DC counterparts. The hints will be very subtle such as character mentions. The one character that DC is really wanting to reference is Wonder Woman. The source was unclear on if this would be to set up a solo movie for the Amazon Princess or to the Justice League, but with the info that was just posted it seems more likely to be the JLA.

The references are not set in stone at the moment so take this with a little pinch of salt, however they aren't expected to be big. So don't expect character cameos or anything like that. The hope is that if Man Of Steel is successful enough, they can use them as a spring board in to either other solo films or the Justice League film. If Man of Steel is not a hit, they are expected to just be fun Easter Eggs for the film. It is also important to note, although it is not surprising, that Henry Cavill DOES have a hold clause in his contract to keep him around as The Big Blue Boy Scout for future adventures.

Man Of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne with Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, and will be released on June 14, 2013.

If it were up to me, I'd create this scene for Man of Steel: Have Clark Kent at the Daily Planet, with colleagues crowded around his computer watching an amateur-shot Youtube video of a beautiful Amazon princess deflecting bullets with her bracelets. No one knows who she is, including Clark. Lois Lane says something like, "This woman might give Superman a run for his money..." Then, just move back into the plot of Man of Steel.

This could literally be done in 30 seconds. Quick. Kick-@ss. Something to get people talking...

Actually I wouldn't be surprised by at least a mention or a nod. If you all will remember, there was a brief blink and you'll miss it reference to Gotham City in SUPERMAN RETURNS (in the News report montage scene), so It would not be a stretch to see a nod to say Gotham, or KeyStone City or even Coast City in MOS. However, I doubt there will be a direct Superhero reference. Chris Nolan is still the producer, and his philosophy is that Superman is the only super hero in his universe, as is Batman in his own trilogy. Now, that doesn't mean they won't leave things open for future films, but other than a city name check that will fly over most movie goers heads, I doubt we will see any other sort of indication of a larger DCU here.

However, if MOS is a success, I would not be surprised if a sequel (which would no doubt be fast tracked if MOS ends up a hit) would see more clues to a larger DCU as build up to a Justice League film, or build up or spin off other DC franchises, Flash, A Green Lantern sequelboot, Wonder Woman, or perhaps even the next series of Batman films.

However, the studio's focus right now is to get Superman up and running, so don't expect any actual cameos of other DCU heroes in MOS.

i really hope there is a mention of someone in MOS, that's how Marvel was so successful in bringing in all of the Avengers for one big movie.

If they wanted to go more subtle that what you purpose they could just sneak a shot of a news article by Lois or Clark on the arrival of an Amazonian princess

City references is one thing, but character references to 'hero-identities' shouldn't be made, in my opinion.

References to civilian names - you could have, for example, an 'in another news, a Wayne Industries spokesperson announced the return of the wandering Gotham billionaire heir...' or a reference to a successful test flight by Hal, or a break-through in an investigation by Barry - would be nice to have, provided they're pre-hero.

A Daily Planet article: Lex Luthor in Gotham for talks with Wayne Enterprises head Bruce Wayne. Or something.

Yeah, something like that is fine.

    Or, to play with words:

'Dark Night Over Gotham: LexCorp-Wayne have falling out'

I just pictured one of the first scenes from Batman Lego 2 where Lex is in Gotham as a nominee for The Man of the Year award that Bruce wins lol

Well, Wonder Woman has a new writer so, depending upon how far down that road they are, they may have enough in place to do a set-up in MoS.

WB has wanted a shared universe since the 1990s. Dean Cain & Val Kilmer were good friends in real life and WB wanted to transition Lois & Clark's cast to the big screen with a World's Finest movie with Cain & Kilmer. Kilmer left the Bat franchise and the marriage of L&C collapsed the show's rating so the plans were scuttled. That was actually why they name dropped each other's city in Batman Forever and that season's L&C. I think they still wanted to do the movie and had Clooney's Batman mention Superman by name, but we all know how well THAT movie turned out. WB wasn't about to spend millions to keep a failed Superman AND a failed Batman franchise going.

Sometimes I think WB has as many failed projects that never became movies as they do actual releases. Wonder Woman. Flash. Batman Beyond. Etc
    Recommended Comics:
    Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

A mention is fine. No pictures. Either a TV newscast, or a radio newscast, or paper headline, or something of that sort. If everything works out, it lets the shared universe work. If it doesn't, it's just a fun tribute to other characters in DC universe.

I think that would be way too obvious. Especially if it's a scene like that which kind of disrupts the movie on purpose to mention something about another irrelevant character in the story for 30 seconds. This is Superman's first big movie in a while. If they do something (which I'd be shocked) I'm sure it will be something so subtle folks won't even notice it the first time they watch the film. This movie is probably just going to be about Superman though. That's the feeling I'm getting.
