Wow, that's breaking news, especialy after the big deal he made about how this was his last Batman movie.
Francis Ford Coppola isn't doing a new Godfather also.

Makes sense. If he had to, that'd be like being forced to find your ex a new lover.

well he is producing Superman, so him staying on in some executive capacity wouldn't be entirely unexpected. which is more to say that WB would be fools to not try and get him involved on some level.

Yeah, and for a while he wasn't going to get involved with Superman either. I think this is more a question of how many zeros WB is willing to add to his cheque than anything else.

DC/WB should take a breath before they haphazardly try to follow Marvel and hastily stumble towards a JLA movie. Hold off on a Batman "reboot" for a second, get an actual shared universe plan together, and buy some time by doing an adaptation of Miller's "Dark Knight Returns".

Eh, the thing is Nolan isn't really a comic book movie guy at all. Batman just happened to barely overlap with the psychological thriller kind of movies he usually does, and even then, it's a Batman that hardly fits the Batman that would be in a Justice League world. That's why I always found those reports of Nolan producing these DC films to be really odd. At least Superman is Goyer's thing who worked with Nolan.

Will there EVER be any hope for a Justice League movie? Every time it looks as though there's reason to hope, it seems DC and WB end up starting back at square one. I had hoped that the success of the Avengers would prompt WB to take it more seriously, but if they can't even get a Wonder Woman movie off the ground what hope does Justice League have? Now I love Batman as much as the next guy, but with Nolan gone he can't carry DC's movies by himself. Marvel will continue to expand and at the rate they're going DC is going to get left behind. I have high hopes for the Man of Steel movie, but it's familiar territory for DC. I would like to see them push the envelope more with a Justice League level movie.
