The very fact the possibility of Wayne dying is still very much a possibility is something of a testament to what a good job Nolan has done with this, I think. There's certainly a great buzz surrounding this film.

I hope Batman doesn't end up killing Bane. I was just rewatching the previous movies and, unlike previous viewings, it struck me that Batman is directly responsible for the deaths of Ras al Ghul and Two Face. As much as I lovew these movies, it bothers me deeply that Batman is killing people.

Even in DC v Mortal Kombat, Batman didn't kill. I mean, Mortal Kombat respects Batman's code more than Nolan!

That's the one line I can't imagine Nolan having Wayne cross. Murder just isn't an act the Batman would commit.

I accidentally ran into a batman spoiler on the net and the twist made my stomach turn, not in a bad thats crap way, but in a fanboy disappointment way for one of the character dynamics which is found in all good drama.

I'm pretty sure that Bruce will let Batman "die" for Gotham and basically replace Dent as it's martyr to inspire people.

Anything else would be redundant with the prior two films and possibly contradict them.
