Probably shouldn't be surprised when editors let the writers get out of control and do things, like the one punch cheetah shot by Batman, or Catwoman beating her, or Batman figuring out how to do magic.

If its in print by the publisher, you have to consider it cannon, no matter how stupid it is.

Which was just as ridiculous as breaking Cheetah's arm.

I completely agree, if one were to consider Darkseid a god (or a supernatural being, from the perspective of a Christian); how did Batman catch Darkseid so completely off guard?

From what I hear he was heavily weakened from a previous battle. And even then he was able to get Bats with an Omega Beam so it's not like he just sat there and took it.

Batman's triade before shooting should have given you the answer but here:
Despite how FC looked like Darkseid winning everything, he was still dying from the very beginning. Batman even called him; 'A rotten carcass of a god, crawling into the sewer to die.'
The damage Orion did to him in the end of Death of the New Gods meant he was beyond repair and he was forcing his spirit into humans to extend the time he had to put everything into motion, burning each of them out in turn. The Guardians of Oa noticed this as well, as did the Monitors, that Darkseid's presence/death on Earth was what they called a Doomsday Singularity, that was dragging everything into a black hole. Darkseid dying on Earth had just been a part of his own plan, what he didn't expect was that Batman would take the bullet he himself fired back through time to kill Orion and use it to shoot him with it (because of the dislike for guns and such).

That said Darkseid has never been shown to be all-knowing, so catching him off guard on even his best days is possible (like when Batman threatened him to release Supergirl in exchange for being able to prevent Apokalips' destruction). He might have telepathy, but he rarely uses it apparently, added Batman probably has a lot of Martian Manhunter lessons to keep Darkseid out.

You should ignore things that dont make sense, just like we ignore Amazons Attack. Or how Batman pulled himself out of a moving airplane's turbine this week. Stupid things will get published from time to time, just ignore them.

I'm pretty sure there were some nonsensical stuff regarding other characters too. Oh and i just remembered one. There was a S/B story about Batman teaming up with Orion's wife, drawn by Dustin Nguyen, where Batman kicks Darkseid in the jaw and makes him bleed. I KNOW RIGHT?

And i thankfully found that page on google, so here it is:

It wasnt like that. Darkseid was mortally wounded in his final battle with Orion and came to Earth to drug it with him to death. His immortal body was destroyed and his servants were constantly moving his spirit from body to body because no mortal body could contain him. His final body was Dan Turpin's and just as he got in it, Batman appears. Darkseid was weak, but he was too strong for him even at that near death state so he underestimated him. He even said "stop hiding in the shadows" so it's clear he wasnt taken by surprise and he didnt consider him a thread.

So Batman uses the bullet Darkseid used to kill Orion on Darkseid himself. In response Darkseid fires his Omega Sanction and sends him traveling throughout time, to gather Omega Energy and unleash it when he reaches the present, detonating as a bomb and destroying the world.

It's comics. If a bunch of clay can become a woman, why cant Batman use a magic bullet to kill the god of evil?

Is it that hard to accept gods other than your own in a piece of fiction?

I cant believe there are people that despise Final Crisis

Plot induced stupidity is common in comics. It's an essential component really. If there was no plot induced stupidity comics would be really, really boring.

Like say, Superman would just knock Batman out before he could even process a thought. Thor would dump Hulk into another dimension before he realises what's happening. Silver Surfer would FTL speed blitz his enemy straight off the bat. Basically, a lot of fights would be over in one panel.

But then sometimes you gotta sit back and go "Yea... that's just really, really stupid".

And maybe then some editor's going to sit up and perhaps go "You know what, maybe we shouldn't have boosted these goofballs powers up the wazoo to the point the only way we can put them in a story is by dumbing them down?"

Thing is... Catwoman VS Cheetah is not a bad concept in itself.

I´ve seen far worse premises than "two catgirls go at each other".

As it´s the becoming the norm with most things DC (see Amazons Attack), the problem lies in the execution.

Catwoman breaking Cheetah´s arm is beyond facepalm-worthy.
Batman dismissively one-punch K.O.ing her is just plain stupid.

Trust me, my intent was not to imply that Darkseid was all-knowing, my point was more related that a mortal could handle such a device that could affect a supernatural being; on top of that, it was about Batman being able to catch Darkseid off guard, in terms of quickness, along with the lack of precautions which should have been taken by Darkseid.

The answer to your question, from you "You should ignore things that dont make sense, just like we ignore Amazons Attack. Or how Batman pulled himself out of a moving airplane's turbine this week. Stupid things will get published from time to time, just ignore them."; however, instead of just ignoring it, it usually makes a great discussion topic on a forum set up to discuss topics.

Curious, have you ever read the Old Testament from beginning to end? If so, how many times have you done so? The answer to why it's so hard for me to accept the existence of other gods is clearly spelled out in the Books immediately following Joshua, specifically in Kings and Chronicles, I believe, although it's implicit everywhere throughout the Old Testament; it's about going on the words of God Himself; but, actually, to help clear up a lot of misconceptions, the Laws of Moses, beginning in the Book of Exodus, were specifically addressed to the Jews rather than both Jews and Gentiles; along the way, Gentiles than implicitly thought the Laws of Moses applied to them as well and now atheist think they've pointed out cracks in the Bible based on this misconception; actually, in later Books, God essentially rescinded those Laws, by rescinding a covenant to the Jews, because a number of Jewish leaders constantly did what was evil in the eyes of God; the Laws of Moses only became a point of interest after Jesus came to fulfill the Laws through His death and resurrection; the Jews were all over Jesus because Mary was a Jew.

Query: why on earth are you even reading about a character who gets her powers from the Greek gods?
