I don't mind them, they're usually short and funny.

So, he created the Red Skull that Joe and Jack created.
    That makes no sense.

Ya know what I hate, threads with titles like "Does anybody hate...", also humorless fuckwits.

no see the RS that joe and jack created killed himself.

one of Stan's first stories was what is now known as a retcon that that real skull wasn't the real RS but a Mook of his.

Nobody cares. Stan Lee did not come up with the concept of supernazi with a red skull for a face.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

I don't mind them, but they stopped being funny a long time ago to me. Though for people who really do hate them I wouldn't worry too much. It's sad to say, but Stan is 89 years old..so he's probably not going to be appearing in many more movies.

Like I said before, if a Stan Lee cameo breaks your suspension of disbelief then you have to be pretty fickle. Because I want to know how Johnny Storm dressing as Captain America, Hulk's pants staying on despite growing 4 times his normal size, a marching band playing Spider-Man's theme song, or Tony Stark building a near impossible power source in a cave (with a box of scraps) doesn't.

How can this take you out of a movie? What kind of silly thing is that?
Anyway, he has been doing this forever in comics and cartoons which is probably the reason he was put in movies.
This is pretty much a tradition.

Nope, and his latest one was fantastic. I hope we can get a few more out of him before Father Time closes that case.

GOD, YES!!! They are awful; and (as many have said) take you out of the film. It's self-indulgent nonesense. If he could act AT ALL, I might not be as bothered, but every "character" he plays makes me cringe. UGH! And, to be fair, I find Sir Alfred Hitchcock's "cameos" just as cringe worthy. Why make great films, then intentionally put something in that is bad? At least with M. Night Shyamalan his are either subtle enough you dont' actually notice them... or he's not iconic enough to take you out of the film (or he actual can act enough to make it work?). For all his faults, at-least Spielberg doesn't stroke his ego when it comes to cameos.
Waitaminute, am I reading this right? Is M. Night getting favor over Hitchcock? If a humorous or innocuous two-second cameo takes you out of a film, that's a personal problem.

There's a reason why M. Night isn't iconic, by the way: he sucks!

Perusing this thread it seems that maybe the ones who have a problem with his cameos Love Kirby so much they hate Lee which is the true reason for getting annoyed at him being on the silver screen not because it pulls them out of the experience. Or perhaps I am offbase.

I think I may have started that by accidentally by mentioning Jean Grey reading his mind and wishing Jack was there with him to see it.

EDIT: Nevermind, someone beat me to mentioning Kirby like around post #20.
