...I wonder where the chips will fall after this issue. This cover seems very dire indeed.
I have been so pumped for this, but the first issue was pretty underwhelming. Fenix needs the boot, fast. She is a literary blackhole. RELEASE THE ABE SAPIEN!!! Bring back Liz!!!
Somehow it's weirder when it's just a regular person, instead of seemingly immortal NAZIs or an exorcist sustained by a trapped demon. We got to know Sal as a young man. I wonder what he'd be like now.
By the way, I didn't notice you were new to the forum. Welcome aboard!

I really love it when I'm right! :P
Finally someone else expresses sadness about Abe! I'm surprised to see that it's him (aww, he's gone gray!) ... but it's nice to see some acknowledgement and not people just ignoring the problem because they don't know what to do/it makes them uncomfortable to think about it.
Well, "he" says that he wished him and Abe had stayed friends..... Does this suggest a fallout between the two? Maybe another story of Abe's past on the works?
Maybe as a flashback in The Return of the Master #2 or another B.P.R.D. book. Remember many people don't read all the spinoffs, so this sequence would need to be written as an introduction to Sal and to his friendship with Abe.
Not to mention Mike Mignola said he was done with Abe stories set in the past. When the next Abe Sapien story comes along it'll be set in the present. I can't wait!
Aaaaaaah so many thoughts on this post, mostly ending with "You can't mess with Johann, he's OUR jackass, not yours".
But one thing that's really, really sticking out to me...
Did this thought occur to anyone else?
