I agree with that but it's not more prone to damage then a dust jacket. Even the soft covers will stand up better then a dust jacket that's been through bad shipping or received shelf wear. If your concern is the book getting dinged and looking bad then dust jackets should be an abomination.
If one of these soft cover books and a book with a dust jacket get messed up in the mail the dust jacket is going to be in much worse then the softish covered book.
Although maybe it would be easier to inflict smaller dents and marks into it then it would be on a dust jacket day-to-day.
I guess if part of the idea was to highlight this high profile writer ("Hey kids, he wrote Babylon 5!!"), putting a "and also this other guy name Kieron Gillen, too" onto it didn't seem to make much sense.
And as to the OHC, I'm sure that is all related to finances - the individual TPBs didn't sell well enough to garner an OHC, same as lots of books WE all wish would get the OHC treatment but won't. I keep thinking about getting the "ultimate collection" but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Does anyone have this (or another one of the Ultimate Collection books?) How is the build on these? I have a fear that a large/thick TPB might have gutter issues.

Anyone know or heard if they plan to collect Incredible 324-330 into an Omnibus or other HC? It was the storyline prior to the one collected in Peter David's - Incredible Hulk Visionaries Volume 1. I always figured that since issue #324 (when the gray Hulk returned) was a popular issue, that this would already be collected.
Thanks.

If I were a MOD I would ban anyone who uses the stupid word "omniboo."
So we all know about the thinner paper being used and now Marvel has changed the cover design.
It is a good bet these decisions are being done to help keep these books at the $100 price point.
Question for everyone.....would you rather see a $125 list price and get nicer thicker paper plus the original cover design or keep the books coming out at $100 but settle for a little less quality?
I am in the camp of quality and would prefer the $125 list price.

I'm in the "I want the most bang for my buck" camp. I don't think it'd cost Marvel a whole $25 more to use a decent grade of paper on these books. So, I want the same high quality for the same outrageous $100 retail price--same as before. Or else in a year or two, someone will be asking the same thing only with $150 instead of $125 as the price point. If they get anymore expensive or the quality drops further, then they're going to price themselves out of the market.
See what I mean?
