I still have to get straight how much of Vision is/was The Original Human Torch, especially since they were both involved with the West Coast Avengers at one point at the same time!

Body of Hammond, mind of Wonderman. Does that technically make him their kid? Vision has three daddies.

Though I think his execution was poor, I actually think Byrne retconning Vision to NOT be the Human Torch actually made perfect sense.

They're 2 very different characters. Even people that knew Human Torch (Steve and Namor) never treated Vision him Jim, so I'm not sure what the point was of making Torch Vision in the first place. It seemingly added nothing to the character, while closing off the door for using Torch at least until Byrne stepped in. It was a waste of a good character, and retconning them apart IMO made more sense as it made both usable.

Technically, Vision was made out of Jim Hammond/Original Human Torch's spare parts that Ultron put together, thats what Byrne explained. So he is sorta a Hammond/OHT clone and since Scarlet was married to Vision, she sorta did "hit" on Jim Hammond.

    Clear as mud?

(I know Stamford's not that far from NYC, and probably quite a few Marvel people had lived or been there, but still coincidental.)

Given marvel's sliding time scale, I wonder if they've retconned some reason for Horton to even be alive at this point.

Now? Probably not. But it all depends on how long ago Ultron first created the Vision.
