Spider-Man just simply isn't World's Greatest Detective level. I would say the way he puts investigations together and gathers evidence is nice. How he found out where the Master Planner was. How he determined who a few of his super villains were. Yeah, he is an okay detective but most of his information comes from interogation, which is, I guess, a part of detective work too.
Life has its own share of twists and turns. Pick friends who are willing to keep you on the roller coaster.
He is an okay detective, obviously not at the level of Batman or Daredevil.
Bad to Okay
Bad only in a sense that unless he has a personal stake or science is involved heavily, he will miss out on things, other detectives would look for. Okay in that once you involve science or a personal stake his drive will allow him to get just close enough to Daredevil level, which isn't even the highest level among Marvel detectives but no where near Batman's level.
Same level as Batman. Sure, they call Batman "the world's greatest detective", despite the fact that i dont remember Batman doing any actual detective work, ever. He just scares the shit out of people, or punches them. Same as Spider-Man. Oh, and he has a computer that does everything else behind the scenes. Modern day Sherlock Holmes ? I think not !
There's a bit of Spider-Man in all of us.
"Not everything... Not yet..."
Scott Summers IS NOT a delusional egotist.
