EDIT: Found another instance... Hembeck tells a similar story, albeit in much more lighthearted fashion, in Marvel Age #114 (six months earlier).
What happened in "Along Came a Child"?

At any rate, I think you're right Chuckles. It's an obscure story that Dan Slott may not have even read.

Right now we've got the promise that ASM 692 will be connected to AF 15. Followed by a press release featuring a blond haired, blue eyed teenager that fits the curious kid's profile.

After witnessing Spidey break up a mugging, the kid -- now a cigarette-smoking teen -- finally puts two and two together. He then goes to Jonah and sells him a sketch of the man behind the mask.

His memory's gone! Or...is it? It's not hard to fake amnesia! The Goblin is capable of anything!

Sounds like a throwaway done-in-one, nowhere near the level of the Crusher Hogan follow-up, or Peter running into the security guard again in ASM 200.

Here's hoping Dan Slott disregards that one, because the idea of that kid becoming Peter's sidekick is much more interesting.

They reveal what really happened to May Parker II who was supposedly dead from Revelations and was the little girl in OMD. Something that unravels the web of life? I'd rather hope not - but it's something often writers have ignored

This has been my prediction since the moment I saw Alpha. I would love if this were to actually come true, not for egotistical reasons but because I believe it is the direction that Spider-Man needs to go. It is a natural path in my opinion and Marvel can't and shouldn't keep avoiding it forever. ( with reboots and retcons like OMD and Sins of the past) So I can't tell you how incredibly relieved I am to hear that someone else shares my prediction. I just hope and pray it comes true although, even if it does..the fan backlash will no doubt be immense, and it could only be a short matter of time before Marvel undoes this.

I bevieve that whatever happens in #700, it will be connected to Dr Octopus. #698 teased us that he might learn Peter's dual identity again. We will see.

I agree with what you say, I've been doing some research into what may lead up to #700, if you go to http://marvel.com/comic_books/issue/...r-man_1999_698 it gives a brief preview of #698 and what may come in the next issues afterwords, but somehow Doc Ock will find out Peter's secret identity and judging from ASM #690 When Madame Webb tells Peter there is something going on at horizon labs which will change his future it has to do with the corrupt scientist who works for Kingpin (forgot his name) who in a fit of jealousy that he was not automatically given Lab #6 at Horizon following Morbius' dismissal disengages the safeties to the Peter Particle machine causing Alpha to be created. Now what I'm getting at is that Judging from whats on Marvels website and the end of #691 Doc Ock may team up with Kingsley as the Hobgolbin (I predict he comes back and kills the new one.) and a corrupt Alpha and terrorize Peter Parker and his loved ones resulting in a death of Aunt May or Mary Jane. Possibly if Aunt May dies it may find a way to undo all that happened with MJ and OMIT and OMD and their wedding may be back in but with this future since Aunt May died he has not continued as Spider-Man. Again, this is all speculation on my point if anyone finds flaws let me know.

As long as Peter and/or MJ don't die I'll be interested in what happens after.
