I am not into first-person shooter type games. But I will definietly get this, even without having seeing any actual game play.
Well, arguably the most popular and easily the most capable character, and his racist brother, at least make sense for the stars of the game.
It's sort of stupid that they aren't just doing a game in the world of walking dead...and that it's an fps, about things you can only kill by shooting in the head.
Nothing's gonna happen without a warning
Telltale's Walking Dead game is brilliant. It may have some tech glitches, but they're not game ruining. The Walking Dead was always lauded for it's story, and how it handled the difficulty of life in the zombie infested world. Telltale is following the same path, their game has you make choices that in reality, feels like there is no good outcome. There may not even be a "lesser of two evils" choices. That is one quality that makes it compelling, but I'll skip more detail, play it for yourself.
Now to grab two characters from the show and turn it into an FPS? Congratulations on taking a steaming dump Activision. You're taking a series with complex emotional and story content and cramming it into the most shallow genre in gaming. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE AN FPS! In fact, most things don't need to be an FPS. CoD and Battlefield are probably enough. Somebody is handling the Walking Dead from the video game end just fine, leave it that way.

Setting up a game where you play as the 2 most racist, unlikable characters might not be a great idea.... guess I'll have to see how they handle them. Merle was clearly designed to the hated and killable in the show and Daryl is clearly designed to be the redemption character but in this time period he'd still be pretty shallow. Honestly I'd prefer they are unlikable in the game rather than whitewashing them.
sHayden is completely right, not everything has to be an FPS. I fear it's gonna be a Call Of Duty 12 : Zombie Edition. If 2K had announced it, I'd probably be more excited about it. I just hope Activision will deal with the characters and the dialogues the way it's been done in Bioshock.
On the other hand, it can be interesting to see how Daryl and Merle became who they are.
We'll see !
