    Default Walking Dead #100 Chromium...

So Walking Dead #100 is going to have a buttload of different covers, but what's so special about the Chromium one? Why is that one $9.99 ($7.99 on Heavyink)? Isn't it just another cover or am I missing something?

Here's the photo of what I assume the cover will look like as that's what Heavyink has as the preview.
what do you think of it?

It's just another cover, designed to appeal to the easily price-gouged collectors. Don't worry about it.

Chromium covers are, at this point, much harder to produce, so it costs more.

what makes them so much harder? Do they have some sort of effect? haha

Or is it just somewhat the equivalent to a holographic pokemon card?

It's a card-stock cover with holofoil effects so yes, it costs more to produce. Probably a limited edition, too. It's a collectable, not a comic book you're meant to read.

While it may cost more to produce, if any chromium cover or holographic cover of any comic books of the past tells you anything its that holo covers are not collectible.

correct. Hence why there are about 12 different covers that are all the same exact comic. I ended up getting a signed cover and and the Todd cover as well as another but even I can say they are milking the franchise.

You got me there. You're not supposed to look at it and think, Why would I pay $10 for a $3 comic. You're supposed to think, Oh! Shiny!
