The cover for Rick Remender and John Cassaday's "Uncanny Avengers" #1, illustrated by Cassaday, has surfaced online, giving a glimpse at the team's line-up and costume revamps.

I generally like Cassaday's work, and I am looking forward to this book, but that new scarlet witch outfit is terrible, and either Rogue's head or her hood is badly malformed.

Regardless, this is on my pull list. :)

I am absolutely LOVING Cassaday's new take on Havok's original costume. Along with Rogue's hoodie, there's something very 80s about it. I approve.

I can't tell if those are hideous redesigns, or if the art is just...off. Havok looked much better in his recent X-Factor appearances, and doesn't need the mask again.

Looks pretty decent and I'm a big fan of Remender's Uncanny X-Force run, so I'll be checking this out. But I'm much more interested in finding out what happens with Cyclops and Cable and where they end up post AvX.

Really no diversity on the new flagship book. IMO major fail marvel. It would nice to be represented if marvel is going to appropriate the civil rights movement. At least dc noticed something wrong with an all white plus green alien justice league in the 21st century. Then again remender is writing and while x-force has been great minus the otherworld arc. diversity is not a strong point on either of hid team books. Disappointed. Besides that this team is lacking a super genius and how can you loot the x line and not grab a telepath.

Of course not the X-Men are the bad guys in this sodding event and the Avengers would never slum it with them.
